Two statements that get some posters excited but have proven to have very, very little correlation to landing a recruit: 1) our players/assistants are now following recruit ABC !! 2) our current player is “in the ear” and really recruiting target ABC !! Both scenarios don’t really seem to mean squat.

I used to be more interested in portal guys with two years left, instead of one, but have come to the conclusion that it doesn’t make any difference as players are increasingly moving pretty much every year.

Duke, UK, UNC, Kansas etc rosters are stuffed, every year, with premier players that were not interested in staying in-state.

Yep, Lets face it….every visit ramps up the sense of competition for the players services which could possibly add, for an elite player, 100’s of thousands to their package. Like it or not that’s the reality.

I could take care of the visits myself as it isn’t that difficult: 1) here is Cook Hall 2) this is “The Hall” 3) all of the the dump-trucks in the parking lot are stuffed with your cash 4) check out the coeds walking around 5) let’s grab some food at BuffaLouies

To be fair, they went on a 5 point scoring binge to end the half at 15. EDIT: They just mentioned that the fewest points in the half by a two seed, in ALL tourney games, was 16 so TN set a new record.

Kid averaged 9.6 points a game this past season and has 20 schools showing interest. 9.6 a game is probably going to make him a million dollar man. The $$$ escalation is just crazy and I can’t imagine what it would be like to be a talented college basketball or football player these days.

Disagree. $10,000,000 is indeed a lot of money but that in no way means he can get “whomever he wants”. Yes, we have cash but Texas will have just as much for Conwell, multiple schools will be able to match our offer to Bidunga, etc etc.

PU definitely got some calls but why in the world did that ref swallow his whistle on that push off with 2.2 to go. The Houston dude’s “arm bar” was fully extended, knocking down the 5,000,000 man, right in front of the ref. Right in front of him. The MBB refs really detract from the game.

I really, really enjoyed continuously seeing Richardsons father, and other parents, during the game. I don’t think we are far away from games primarily showing the parents with brief flashes of the play on the court.

He probably won’t make NBA money and is looking at what may be the opportunity of his lifetime. If PU has 2mm and the 5mm number being floated is correct (I have NO idea) I’d be very surprised if he passes up an extra 3mm. He might give PU a bit of a discount but they will most likely have to competitive.
