17-0 run. Down 7.

14-0 run for Wichita State. Were down 24, now down 10 with 9 minutes left to SMU.

Not good losses for Rhode Island and Georgetown as they were home losses. Georgetown is now 15-14....don't think even wins over both Creighton and Villanova in their last two gets them in as they would still be just 17-14. Rhode Island hosts Dayton next game....loss there would eliminate them. Cincy ends with a couple of games that can only move them up slightly as they bottom half American teams; losing either will eliminate them.

That is where I'm at -- if we are 9-11 and in the play in game we need to win the play in game. Would be nice if Purdue did us a favor and lost their last two games while we beat Minnesota. That would keep us out of the play in regardless of what happens in the Wisky game.

FWIW, for those who think we are in danger of making the tournament at 9-11 in conference, check where we are brackets tomorrow morning. Winning one of the next two will basically keep us in the same spot.

I'm in the camp that players don't respond to getting yelled at time and again. But that's not what we are talking about here. The reaction from Archie in this case was different than normal but involved absolutely nothing physical. I guess I'm not seeing why this is anything.

Yeah, but he wasn't doing it to 'look good to the fans'. He did it because he was upset about a player screwing up at a very important of the game. If we want coaches to be robots and not show emotion, then let's just call the thought police on him. In terms of players responding to it or not.....they most certainly don't respond to it if it something a coach does over and over again and in situations less critical. But let's see if Al ever calls a timeout with less than thirty seconds left in a game when the bench wasn't calling for one again.

I would hope we are hot at a point in history where simply taking a step toward a player you are upset qualifies as even a blip of a story.

How do 'teams that want it more' and 'better teams' get outboarded badly and have to really on missed calls to win?

It is 1000% a Big Ten ref looking for the cheers from the home fans at the end of a game. Sorry your JUCO college basketball career is over, stripes, but how about doing it right instead of feeding your ego?

And the worst case out of that was a jump ball with I believe IU possession. Somehow even the refs didn't allow that to happen.

So IU puts up 43 shots and Illinois puts up 40, but the Illini get 24 free throws and IU 12? Okay.

Missed foul call against Durham......would have gotten three free throws. Instead Illinois gets possession. Time out granted to Illinois without possession. Another gained possession. BT refs are embarassing.

Our defenders are going to have to stop the drives. You can live with the two threes they made from guys who don't normally shoot well. Can't let them blow by on offense, especially with the hedges too high. What I would give for this team being able to play a good zone. Would resolve a lot of issues considering that three point shooting is down in the NCAA.
