  1. Jesus Christ....the old bald guy makes a three the he didn't catch cleanly while Phinnissee can't make wide open shots.
  2. Someone clean Armaan Franklin's shoes off. Dude is playing on roller skates.
  3. Not even going to teams with losing conference records, teams with less than 20 losses receiving at large bids has certainly anything but rare in the 2000s. I picked 2005 and 2006 randomly.....in 2005, 4 teams with sub 20 win seasons were given at large bids. In 2006, 5 were. Secondly, under your requirements it would be better for power conference teams to cut back on the number of conference games in order to allow teams to schedule enough cupcakes to get to 20 wins.
  4. The big difference is that last year the Big Ten wasn't as highly rated as this year. Everyone agrees this year that the Big Ten is the top conference. It wasn't last year. That said, if someone can explain to me how Ohio State at 18-9 and 8-8 in conference with a non-conference schedule worse than IU's (according to KenPom) can be ranked 23rd in both polls while IU at 18-9 and 8-8 in conference can't even get a single vote, I'm willing to listen.
  5. Maryland shot 38% from the field and 21% three. Minnesota shot 46% and 42%....and lost. To sum up the Big Ten tonight: Rutgers came back from 21 down on the road only to give up a 3 with 27 seconds left to lose by 1. Maryland only led once at 2-0 before they hit that desperation three to come back from 17 down to beat Minnesota.
  6. Maryland puts on their ski mask and absolutely steals one.
  7. Maryland 25 footer with 1.9 seconds left after Kalsheur misses....Maryland up 1. Damn replay of the IU game. Think Maryland was down 8 with about two minutes left. Pitino better draw up some magic or they are officially done from NCAA (and maybe even NIT considering they may not break .500) consideration.
  8. Proof that the NET system is worse than RPI: Current RPI entering today using the old system: IU (18-9) 44 Purdue (14-14) 96 Minnesota (13-13) 99 Yet somehow IU is way behind both Purdue and Minnesota in NET.
  9. 2 point game, 14.5 seconds left. Minnesota 73-71. Minnesota ball out of bounds.
  10. Notre Dame was 56 coming in, so...yeah. Not sure the NET system is any kind of improvement over RPI. Both suck. Yeah, I'm looking at you, #37 Purdue.
  11. Jalen Smith chucks one up completely out of rhythm. Misses, Minnesota at the line with 39.8.
  12. Minnesota turns the ball over with 43.5 seconds. Maryland ball down 3.
  13. With Smith out, Oturu is having a field day.
  14. Just saw the third foul again. Nothing there. But a huge call.
  15. Refs seem to be calling any contact on Smith a foul.
  16. So Jalen Smith picked up his third after twenty seconds into the game......again on an incredibly questionable call. I simply don't get Big Ten refs. Just wow.
  17. Maybe Turgeon knows more than me, but I'm not a fan of watching my team get pummelled and letting my stud big man sit on the bench for 12 minutes with two fouls. On cue, he brings him in.
  18. He is said to be applying for a waiver to be immediately eligible to play in the 20-21 season. If the NCAA grants that, it's total BS. Dude abandoned his team midseason -- his choice. Don't reward that kind of behavior.
  19. Maryland just chucking up bad shots and missing tip ins.
  20. My fear: we win one of the last four, putting us at 19-12 and 9-11 in conference. That might still put us in the play in rounds of the conference tournament, though.....if we lose to Purdue Thursday, then tiebreakers are not in our favor. So at 19-12/9-11 we are probably in the field, but would an upset loss in the play in round move us back out as it would be a loss to either Nebraska or Northwestern? Personally, I am rooting for us to win first of all but am also rooting for Minnesota/Purdue/Ohio State/Rutgers to lose. Would prefer that Maryland beats MInnesota but right now they are looking like crap.
  21. Maryland laying an egg at Minnesota so far. Jalen Smith just picked up his second foul four minutes into the first half (in his defense, that was a really bad second foul call). Turgeon immediately picks up a T. Minnesota up 13-4.
  22. They host Maryland and go to Purdue. So.....have to either beat the best team in the conference or win a road game, something they've only done once all year.
  23. Dagger three by Penn State with 27 seconds followed by Rutgers standing and doing nothing for the remaining time. A lot goes into a one point loss, but Pikiell took his last time out with 2:20 left down just 2 points. HUGE coaching mistake.
