We've got like 40ish days to go, so we will be rotating daily through the candidates. Mondays are the Beard special. Agreed. He’s nowhere near my first choice, but he’s far better and proven than anyone we’ve had since Sampson. You could argue whether he’s better than Crean I suppose.

Yes I have had Old Forge also! You’re right it’s excellent. We typically stay right in Gatlinburg on the strip (easy walking to all the pancake restaurants!), then drive over to Pigeon Forge a couple times as well. We like heading down there in the fall.

My family and I visited an actual Black Rifle coffee shop in Pigeon Forge a few months ago. I had no idea they actually had brick and mortar stores until then. I agree their coffee is excellent. I can’t remember what actual brew I had but I loved it.

I just realized how long of a month/six weeks this is going to be. Normally, like when Crean and Archie were canned, it’s at the end of the season and the wait is only a couple of weeks (I think). This is going to feel like a eternity.

From my experience, losing a Woody was usually accomplished in a way that felt quite good. Maybe you've been doing it wrong? Try the other hand.

I’m just going to be hopeful that no matter who we end up getting, it’s gotta be a helluva lot better than the past 4 years. If it’s Stevens, that’s amazing, if not, so be it, but it’s gotta be better.

I think they had enough of the "drinks way too much" part when they had Gillespie. Probably didn't want to go down that road again. They were probably fine with the domestic abuse...j/k.

I don't know much about him other than from what I've read he is "supposed' to be a good coach and great recruiter in the state. I've just seen him mentioned here from time to time as a possibility. I'm sure there are better candidates.

This is why I am so frustrated we missed out on Dusty and Schertz. We probably could have had either one of those guys and likely will strike out on the "big" names just like UK is this season. Maybe Shrewsberry could still be an option, but maybe not.

For me it wasn’t/isn’t about Purdue either. It’s about this year clearly demonstrating that Woodson isn’t the answer. His first two seasons I didn’t love what I was seeing all the time, but still, it was at least what appeared to be a mild upgrade from Archie. This season made me realize that here we are yet AGAIN, and that we just can’t seem to get the correct hire…AGAIN. Then the fact that administration doubled down just made/makes it that much worse.
