Candidate Thread: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)
kottke replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's going to be a long weekend if we don't hear anything. I'm hoping it goes one of two ways: 1) They announce late morning today so it will be the talk of the tournament or... 2) They wait until early next week so there aren't any games on yet and it's the ONLY thing to talk about. I'd prefer #1 so I don't get an ulcer but we'll see. -

Man I’d love to franchise a good burger joint. -

Me too! I’m going to get an ulcer if this drags on forever. -

I don't think this is something to worry about. Brad either wants to come back to Indiana or he doesn't. He'll make plenty at either job. -

If they do get him (please God) and do have a press conference soon, then what happens? Does he finish out the season in Boston or leave immediately? -

That would definitely help the transition if BS stuck around to finish out the season in Boston. -
Sadly you are correct...party pooper :-)

20 minutes....hmm by my calculations, you are now 72 pages behind. Better get reading.

Maybe he grabs Michael Lewis back.

Sorry you made a typo.

I'm a 42 year old Cubs fan so I grew quite accustomed to being let down, but.............2016! Maybe it's finally our time to get this damn coaching search right!

How about Oats?

I must have missed this. What was the talk?

Ditto. It's hard to mentally accept anyone else until you know he is definitely out.

Yeah I'm a little concerned of Crean 2.0 with him. He's not my #1 but he seems to make sense in a lot of ways. Hope I'm wrong!

Good point! Makes them even better candidates.

I think it will be Musselman.

“What’s important to us is that it’s a style of play that recruits want to play in and that recruits see that they can see themselves in, but then also is really on the cutting edge of where is basketball going, where is college basketball going, and as you can see, basketball is different than it was three years ago, four years ago, six years ago in terms of how it fits into the NBA and moving on and playing professionally. I think we have to blend all of that together to have an attractive style of play, that obviously can win consistently, but that players want to play in and see themselves in.” This makes me think of the offensives of three coaches: Oates, Musselman, and Enfield - who we seem to have forgotten about. Doesn’t seem like Oates is happening though so...

If the tournament comes and goes and we've yet to have a new coach named, wouldn't it be pretty safe to say there's a great chance it's Stevens? Who else would there be to wait on?

Oh yes...me too:
