    Both college basketball players and minor league players are paid athletes. My comparison between the two sports was strictly about the level of performance and the fact that it’s paid entertainment.

    I view it similar to the minor leagues in baseball. Obviously, there are differences, but it’s still paid sports entertainment.

    To be devil’s advocate, aren’t there quite a few NBA players who made it even though they played for lesser programs or programs that didn’t necessarily win in a player’s final season? Aren’t NBA scouts looking for individual performance over team performance?

    Nope…everyone is a mercenary now. The coach…the school…none of that matters as much anymore. That’s the world we live in now. There will some exceptions, but not many. JMHO. Others may not agree and that’s fine. :)
