We wore pink Hardens with the Black History Month jerseys I believe.

(2024) - Liam McNeeley to UConn
BtownStrength replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Get a Whataburger franchise to land Liam. Then a Shake Shack to get Boogie Fland. I might never leave the state again. -
Bill irks the hell out of me with his biases sometimes, but he knows the game. Those 2 definitely deserve more minutes.

Another L for Kenny Payne. 28 in-season wasn't enough.

Plus we're still in on Newell, Boateng, and Harper (although these may be longer shots). -
Jalen Hood-Schifino - Philadelphia 76ers
BtownStrength replied to Hovadipo's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Yeah Jalen looked bad the other night. He might need some G League reps this year, as he is probably no higher than 3rd on the depth chart at pg. Still have high hopes for JHS -
Jalen Hood-Schifino - Philadelphia 76ers
BtownStrength replied to Hovadipo's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Not the best opener but he will get better. Aside from bad distance shooting and inconsistent defense he played ok. I remember watching summer league a few years ago convinced Austin Reaves would never make a roster. JHS will be fine, summer league growing pains will happen. -
Indiana apparently signing Bruce Brown for around 20M /year. Pacer fans how ya feeling on this one?

Jalen Hood-Schifino - Philadelphia 76ers
BtownStrength replied to Hovadipo's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Dennis Schröder is most likely leaving LA, as he will command more money than LA can use with the TPMLE. If Jalen shows out and progresses, he could slide into a much needed backup pg role. I believe JHS will show he is a steal at 17. -
Seems like they are trying to (and probably will) bring back Draymond now that Poole is gone. I agree it's kind of a mixed bag for TJD there. They play small and they definitely give rookies opportunity. Downside like you said is they are in win-now mode, as the title window with Steph is rapidly closing. Can he jump Loon and the minutes Green plays at the 5?

Who fills the last scholarship?
BtownStrength replied to Sardinefarts1991's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Local rumor is that when he transferred from ISU to UK, not all credits transferred perfectly toward the degree path. As a former transfer, I (and many others) know how rough this can be, losing a semester or possibly more of classes. It may be a stretch to get done by end of summer but certainly possible. He could also petition NCAA for a waiver. -
Sabonis was a brilliant player, sad that he doesnt get the recognition because his "prime" was as a pro in Lithuania and Spain. So good with Portland, but he is always a "what could have been" if he spent more time in the NBA. Back to Jokic, should have won 3 straight MVP but the BS excuse of "voter fatigue" got in the way.

I mean TB went to the front office and requested to be moved. I still think he could be a solid piece but would either be on a worse team or the fit would have to be extremely good to mask his defense. Otherwise, in playoff time he would be heavily hunted on switches.

Bro gonna commit to IU Southeast.

Yeah I think the "NBA arenas dont come close" narrative is overkill. College atmospheres do tend to be more hype on average. Regular season NBA crowds dont usually get crazy loud, but we are used to being a part of one of the best home crowds in college so our vantage point is from the top. NBA playoff crowds hit different than regular season, especially those OKC crowds, MSG, Boston, Philly, Sacramento, LA sometimes.

Basketball Announcers Besides Fisch
BtownStrength replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
College: Hummel is great and hope we get a ton of games this year. Smart, insightful, and funny. Pro: love Mike Breen. Good main play commentator and his signature calls are emphatic and iconic. Color commentator: SVG gives great analysis. Smart basketball mind who isnt afraid to say what he means or call someone out. -
76ers and losing in the conference semis...name a more iconic duo. Once Tatum boomed them in the 4th of game 6, felt like they were crushed.

2023 SF/PF Mackenzie Mgbako to Texas A&M via Portal

Like that he is making the decision quickly. Maybe(probably) means nothing, but better than a longer process.
