Yeah, body part splits are not done at the collegiate level. Hell, they shouldn't even be done at the high school level but many small high schools don't have access to appropriate coaching. Strength training and conditioning are still done in season but to maintain the muscle that was added in the off-season.

This is why the vast majority of adding muscle is done during the offseason. So the player has time to acclimate through high quality and quantity of shooting drills under new weight. Edit: We see this all the time when players struggle upon entering the program. Yogi Ferrell added significant mass and took time to get his shot used to his new muscle. The added mass was necessary for a player his size not to be pushed around. But it takes time and adaptation.
