IUFB Offseason Updates
BtownStrength replied to ThompsonHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I agree with this. We will not get the respect that the name-brand schools will get. I wouldn't mind scheduling a little tougher, but you are right. We would be out if we lost one more, regardless of the schedule. And while I'm not defending Bama by any means (as I think the SEC honks are whiners beyond belief), they do have 2 P4 teams on the schedule every year from 2025-2034. I wouldn't be mad if we scheduled a Stanford or Arizona or someone along those lines to a home and home for 2026 and 2029 as those are the coming years we have an OOC P4 gap. -

Yeah as bad as it is, the free for all payment system is the only way we can compete close to even. Let's pay these lads. F the salary cap -
I will take your word as I dont have X. And I agree on the age thing. A couple years ago would have been fantastic but now it seems like we have missed the window.

Quinten Joyner from USC in the portal. We might be able.to give someone who averaged 7.6 ypc a look.. -
Wait did I miss something? What's the info here?

About half of the "experts" also have Ohio St, Tennessee, and Indiana shuffled from their current ranking even though the committee said idle teams would not move relative to each other. These people are morons.
-
Agree with those saying a road trip to South Bend is the most likely. @ Penn St would be 2nd most likely outcome. Anything past that seems like a stretch.
-
And there it is

SMU 22 yards away from a tie.
-
SMU with the ball. Chance to tie it up if they drive.
-
Clemson winning could be an interesting development
-
How will we be the 11? Do you think Arizona St will jump us?
-
Looks like they upgraded
-
I think if Penn St and Georgia win we could see ND
-
So who are we rooting for in the SEC game? I don't really want either of these teams in a road environment and I feel like Georgia winning is the best way to avoid both.
-
Agree. Even if Texas loses they most likely will not drop to 7 seed. 6 at the lowest IMO This is why I will be rooting for UGA in the SEC championship. I doubt we will see Texas anyway, and Georgia's lines could give us problems.
-
We are about to see whether the committee will punish losers of conference championships. This will be interesting

When you use the word "unique" here, are you using it based on the original Latin word unus, meaning "one"? Are you using it in the extended, more informal meaning as a synonym for "unusual"? If it is the former, quantifying with the preceding word "so" alters the original meaning of "unequaled" incorrectly. However, if it is the latter, I acknowledge this as a widespread case of lexical broadening via a shift toward casual prose. I await your forthcoming response with keen interest.

The Bucket Game: Saturday 11/30 @ 7PM on FS1

What's the realistic path to hosting? We jump above Georgia and Tennessee? -
Agree on Clemson, but if Georgia stays ahead of us in the Tuesday rankings, no way the committee will drop them if they lose the SEC title game.
-
Personally, I doubt it. I bet Miami drops below us but OSU stays ahead, and we rank 9th
