  1. It does seem to be the older crowd wanting him.
  2. I'm surprised at the number of fans on X and Facebook that I see advocating for Steve Alford. Are these folks serious?!?!
  3. Sorry for all the thread bandwidth I've been wasting guys. I'll try to post more meaningful stuff. alarmLog.txt
  4. He is probably at the bottom for me, but I would get behind it.
  5. I really feel like we will be happy with whoever is picked as the coach. I think this is the most important hire for IU since Knight. The program can't afford another miss and Dolson knows this. I am still a firm believer that it will be Stevens (I posted my theory 200 pages back). That being said, we have the NIL to recruit the talent, we just need a tactician with a personality to handle the big stage at IU and I think there are many who would fit that criteria and excel. I've been struggling to put together my Wishlist of candidates and I finally did so today. I kept Jay Wright and Tony Bennett off the list because I think they are done with the current state of the game but I would love either. I also didn't add Dusty May because of the recent extension, but he was my #1 before that occurred. 1) Brad Stevens (obviously #1 and many believe not likely, but I am hopeful). 2) Scott Drew (if he can build a program in Baylor, Indiana should be easy) 3) Chris Beard (I get the controversy and the unlikelihood, but he would get this program rolling) 4) Josh Schertz - I just really like the guy. I think he gets it and I loved watching his Indiana State teams play. Lots of fun. Does he have the personality for the big stage? 5) Everyone else is a tie for me (Grant McCasland, Ben McCollum, TJ Otz, Mark Few) I firmly believe all these guys would kill it here. So give me anyone of these guys and let's go dominate again.
  6. I'm sorry guys, I'm just over here doing my best.
  7. That being said, I'm still on the Stevens train until it derails
  8. I'd absolutely love seeing Drew to Indiana. But I think my favorite part about it would be that he turned down UK the year before.
  9. Not yet, we need to cycle through another Chris Beard/Brad Brownell/Mick Cronin debate first.
  10. There are very few coaches that would make me that disappointed. Whoever it is, will be well vetted and put in position to win big.
  11. "And I come back to you now - at the turn of the tide"
  12. Brad Stevens...... It's happening. The curse is being lifted
  13. That gif makes me laugh every single time
  14. How about this scenario. Hoosiers win out and make a run in the tournament. Dolson extends Woodson 10 years. Purdue loses out, fires Painter and hires Brad Stevens.
  15. I just can't watch this team play. It's so painful.
  16. It's going to be alright guys(and gals).
  17. I had this theory last night when I was fighting my insomnia. I'm not saying I believe it, I'm just putting it out there. So the Woodson hire came out of left field 4 years ago. It was rumored that Dolson wanted Matta but he failed the physical, blah blah blah. Either way, Dolson had to know that neither of those guys were long term hires. If I remember correctly, Dolson even mentioned in an interview last year that he viewed Woodson as a sort of "bridge" hire and the next coach would be more of a long term solution. So this made me think. What if there really was legs to the Stevens talks last time as many here have said. What if Stevens did indeed say that the timing wasn't right but otherwise he would be interested. So Dolson decided to make a short term hire (Woodson or Matta) that would bridge the gap until Stevens was available to take the job. I say this because it is the only logical reason why you would hire somebody like Woodson. So if that insane theory of mine is correct, that would mean that Stevens is indeed the #1 candidate and that a possible agreement is in place. It would also mean that this 4 years of suffering under Woodson was all by design. Although, a short stint with Matta would have been preferable to Dolson, it just didn't materialize. Is Dolson really capable of playing 4d chess like this? Or am I crazy and we will hire Kermit Davis or Paul Mills in two weeks?
  18. I can't help but laugh at some of these responses. Tony Bennett and Scott Drew would be fantastic hires. They would turn this bus around. Both have won championships at schools that nobody would consider blue bloods. Yet some of you guys are saying pass?!?!? Are you serious? Our program has been as mediocre as they come for the past 25 years. We would have killed to have the success that Baylor and Virginia have had.
  19. I assume this is related to Mark Turgeon :)
  20. Hearing some Darrin Horn chatter today.
  21. Looking forward to what random names become the "chatter" today!!
  22. I'm with you. An above average coach can kill it here with the NIL
  23. I almost brought up Turgeon yesterday as a joke.
  24. I heard Joe Pasternack was in New Mexico with Scott Dolson as well.
