  1. If past hires are any indication, I would guess somebody completely inept and inexperienced.
  2. That's what I find fascinating. Who are these simpletons that think the program is in such great shape? As leaders, they should be capable of evaluating both the current position as well as the future of the program.
  3. Coming to this board and reading messages from "sources" is all part of the draw and fun. Even if they do not prove to be true. And I get it, rumors are just rumors, some prove to be true and others false. However, something is very odd in this whole situation. Where did all the smoke come from? What is with the weird timing of last night's press release? Why did they not name a specific source? And most of all, how could anybody in leadership look at this program and think it's going in the right direction? Do they not understand the college game? Do they not understand that no other program would have hired Woodson in a million years? Being 39 years old, I've experienced more turbulence from this program than good, but like all of you, I'm hanging in there. But I'm reaching my breaking point. Why should I be so passionate about a program in which the leadership is ok with mediocrity? It's absolutely infuriating.
  4. Bottom line..... If a change is not made, the brass in charge are not serious about IU basketball ever becoming an relevant player in the landscape of college basketball for the foreseeable future. That's really all that needs to be said. Sincerely, TheGhostofRickMajerus(withaT)
  5. I doubt the 3-pointer will ever catch on.
  6. Truth. But at least there, the emotions are probably warranted.
  7. I think it's just the normal progression of optimism to pessimism etc that is in most of our threads. It's always a rollercoaster of emotion, even if there is no evidence for either.
  8. I have to believe Dolson knows how dire the future looks. He did with football, how could he not with basketball? And of course the current plan is "Woodson gets another year." This will always be the plan until they announce different. Just like the plan was to bring Archie back for year 5, until it wasn't.
  9. Maybe he thinks Kenny Payne has some playing eligibility left.
  10. Yes, maybe we could get a former successful head coach to come in and mentor him and a long time assistant to sit with him on the bench........oh wait....we already did this. And how long did that last?
  11. Just curious, what is the "sure thing". How would you define that? Who would be a "sure thing" in your opinion?
  12. It's hard to say my friend. I just want this program to be respected once again. I want to compete for championships. I want to see a well coached product on the floor. Archie didn't bring that in 4 years here and he isn't bringing it at Rhode Island so far. Coach Woodson hasn't brought that in 3 years and is trending the wrong direction.
  13. Texas Southern was the other school he had success at.
  14. Don't get me wrong, I'd be thrilled with Pearl as well. I just think Dusty will be something special (i.e. Jay Wright (Hofstra), Thad Matta(Butler), Nate Oats (Buffalo)).
  15. Exactly! "Dusty May isn't proven." Seriously guys? Dusty May took FAU to the Final Four. He built that program from the ground up. How could you possibly prove yourself anymore? What else would it take? If you hesitate on him, you run the risk of him going to Ohio State or Michigan and steamrolling us year after year. We have 4 Tournament appearances in the last 10 years. We have advanced past the sweet sixteen once in the past 30 years. ONCE! We have a clueless coach leading our program in the wrong direction. We have been in the bottom half of the big ten for most of the last 10 years. if anything, our program has become the "unproven" party when looking for a new coach. Thankfully, we have an absolutely rabid fanbase that few programs can rival.
  16. He at least got one. And yes, I got the same response as everyone else.
  17. Yep Option A - Randy Wittman Option B - Pat Knight
  18. If Coach D has a successful college coaching background and can get his team to play defense and run a coherent offense then I am already on board.
  19. At this point, we should consider "the hump" as a potential replacement for Woodson.
  20. 2016 was the last time we made the sweet sixteen. A few months later, Harambe was shot and killed. We haven't been the same since. Coincidence? I think not.
  21. Woodson out coached Kenny Payne.
