Announcers for tonight's game gushed about Woodson and what a great job he has done. They said Woodson told them he has averaged 21 wins a season and doesn't know why that isn't good enough. I shouldn't be surprised at his lack of awareness but I still am.

We are Hoosiers fans, all of us. We understand your pessimistic opinion because of the last 25 years of this program. We are all conditioned to the let downs and disappointment. However, I am one of those you mentioned who believe we are going to get a good coach. The landscape has changed in basketball and this job has never looked more appealing than it is right now. That's why I have hope and I believe there certainly isn't a reason to work yourself up before any announcement have been made. That being said, if we come out on the other side with Darrin Horn or Andy Enfield, I will join you in disappointment. P.S. I think BS is very much in play.

Thanks for posting this. It's really some fascinating stats. Archie was the safe hire. He was young and had some success at a basketball school. While his personality was probably not the best fit, most people thought he would have a solid career (including myself). The guy worked his tail off, it just didn't work out.

I agree with this. I don't know the process, so I am assuming here, but doesn't the athletic department handle most of the scheduling? No doubt they get input from the coach but I would assume the lions share is happening outside of the HC. I also assume that they have strict deadlines to keep in order to make these matchups happen so they can't really wait on a new coach.
