  1. I think i prefer him over Cronin. The only negatives are he did fail at Iowa State and he is 60 (which surprised me when I looked it up). I think we could see a higher ceiling with McDermott than Cronin, but possibly a lower (but not by much) floor.
  2. Thamel does seem to be IU's go to national guy (at least for football). He was the first to break the Cignetti hire news, as well as the first with all the Rourke injury updates (Thumb and ACL)
  3. Very lucky they didn't give us a timeout there.
  4. Whistle blew as he shot it. So idk if you can judge that miss.
  5. Dusty May vs the zone is giving me PTSD.
  6. Watching Wolf play basketball is very enjoyable.
  7. A bad Rice fadeaway at the end of a half. It's the Woodson special.
  8. When we are supposed to start clapping?
  9. Fanta is the best in the biz.
  10. And through all the changes, one thing remains constant. Indiana fans still want Brad Stevens.
  11. If that puff piece of a statement isn't enough to satisfy him; then I don't know what would be.
  12. INBOX: STATEMENT FROM VICE PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS SCOTT DOLSON ON THE STATUS OF IU MEN’S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH MIKE WOODSON During a meeting with Coach Woodson on Wednesday, he informed me he wanted to step down as our program’s head coach at the end of the current season. He said it had been weighing on his mind for a while, and that it was an emotional and difficult decision. We have had subsequent thoughtful conversations about his decision and his desire to ensure that the program is in the best position it can be moving forward. At an appropriate time, Coach Woodson will articulate his feelings about his decision and his experiences these last four years. It’s clear to me from our discussions in the last several days that his No. 1 priority is for the attention to be off him, and instead focused on uniting Hoosier Nation in support of our student-athletes, coaches, and, most importantly, the program. We still have much to play for this season as we prepare for Saturday’s game against Michigan and the remainder of the 2024-25 season, and we want to encourage Hoosier fans to rally around the program and support it in the same positive way that Hoosier fans did during Mike’s All-America and Big Ten MVP playing career. Coach Woodson is a class act. During the last four years, he has led the program during a transformational time in college athletics and helped us become a national leader in evolving areas including NIL and the Transfer Portal. No one loves IU Basketball more than he does. I want to thank him for coming back to Bloomington and accepting the challenge of rebuilding our program and re-connecting it with its past and its foundation. In pursuit of that goal, it was important to him that he bring back other legendary Hoosier players such as Calbert Cheaney, Randy Wittman, and Jordan Hulls, all of whom share his love and passion for this program. That’s a group of individuals that combined for 375 wins at IU, seven Big Ten championships, two Final Fours, and a national title. With this decision made, Coach Woodson and I share the desire to see Hoosier Nation unite beginning on Saturday afternoon in support of these players, coaches, and program.
  13. No formal announcement seems monumentally stupid. Why have the conversation if you weren't going to announce it? Just ******* fire him. Jesus Christ.
  14. I see you laughing at that post prodigy, I thought we agreed you needed to log off?
  15. My copium is telling me this is true. They have decided to move on completely and are waiting for 5 o'clock to announce. Although I fear something would have leaked by now if that were the case.
  16. How has it been almost 24 hours since this leaked, and we still don't have an official announcement? Can that guy log off again?
  17. I'll preface this by saying I want him out of the program today. But I do think from an optics perspective for possible future coaches, it does make the program look better to let him have his retirement. EDIT: but if they go out and lose by 20+ to Michigan on Saturday and the students are chanting for Dusty May, those positive optics go out the window.
  18. Better not lose on Saturday.
  19. Can we preemptively move the DUI vs Domestic Violence discussion to any other thread on this board?
  20. Him showing up to work at 8am is the most surprising thing I've read in the last couple days.
