If college basketball programs were countries

Just coming to this thread is a RISK! -
Come on NCAA---how about doing the RIGHT THING for a change! :good:

We all know that IU has the superior basketball tradition as compared to Illinois. In my opinion----IU is the superior academic school too. Did you hear what the University of Illinois graduate said to the Indiana University graduate? "Welcome to McDonalds----can I take your order, please?" -

Why of course---straight from the players! -
Oh I can hear the NCAA now-----"But poor Roy didn't know anything about what was going on!" Right! :no2:
-
As much as I am not an SMU fan----if they get hammered for academic issues and UNC goes scot-free-----the NCAA should just be dissolved because they are useless. They pick and choose who they want to punish and what sanction to recommend. It's ridiculous!
-
Wonder if SMU was using the same "paper courses" as UNC? :scratchhead:
-
Heard SMU is now under investigation for academic improprieties. Trouble seems to follow Larry Brown. He got out of Kansas after winning it all and they were put on probation for 2 years afterward for things that happened on his watch.

Deep question of the day: Did you ever wonder why the first three letters of Illinois and Illini are I-L-L? Do they make you sick? :scratchhead: -

Thank you! I found a great site about Hoosiers in the NBA---and playing professionally overseas! -
With their win tonight----the Zags go to 17-1. I don't know what to make of them yet. Sometimes they look great---sometimes average. I have a natural west coast bias as imo the teams are overrated and flame out early in the NCAA tourney---Gonzaga has the talent to make me reconsider that assumption this year about them.

8th ranked Utah beats ASU 76-59. They move to 14-2.
-
4th ranked Zags hold on to beat Pepperdine 78-76. Wiltjer had 24 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Not bad for someone who just basically sit the bench for UK!

Dear Venky---please tell us you want to finish up your college education at a nationally acclaimed business school and that your two favorite colors are Cream and Crimson! What you THINKY VENKY?

On it! How's this...... The word of the week is IMPACT! That's exactly what former Hoosiers and citizens of Francais land are having in the NBA. King Codius Zeller continues to have his way on the inside for the Charlotte Hornets almost posting a double-double with 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists Wednesday night. Recently the King has been posting double figure scoring games and now he has added a double figure rebound game to his already impressive resume'. King Zeller had played in 123 straight NBA games before a recent shoulder injury caused him to sit one out. If recent performances are any indication, it's safe to say---He's Back! The King is not alone in his outstanding performances as former IU teammate Victor Oladipo, the Ambassador of IU/Francais land has been on a tear of late shredding defenses with his ridiculous scoring drives and acrobatic dunks. Ambassador Dipo put up 33 points for Orlando against the Bulls on Monday and followed that up with 32 points against Houston on Tuesday. Dipo missed out on being voted to the NBA all star game as he too has been injured and is now back and better then ever! He is averaging 33.3 minutes per game, 15.6 ppg, 3.8 apg, 3.7 rpg, and 1.6 steals per game. He jumped so high on one recent dunk that the announcers have nick--named him "Ola--Leapo"! Finally, former Hoosier and Illini heartbreaker, Eric Gordon, has also been bouncing back nicely from injury. He recently scored 20 points and in his last game he recorded 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. After his last game he was asked if he had any comments about the upcoming IU and UI game. He responded with two statements. Gordon said, "The REAL Assembly Hall is in Bloomington, Indiana!" and "It's not too late for any Illinois recruits who have already committed to de-commit and go to a REAL basketball school like Indiana---if IU will have you!" The former Hoosiers are all stat sheet stuffers and are having a major IMPACT in the NBA! -
Gonzaga up on Pepperdine last I checked----52-46 ---with about 13 minutes to go.
-
10th ranked Arizona 68--Colorado 54
-
Petteway with 27 for Nebraska in the losing effort. Kaminsky with 22 for the Badgers.
-
Wiscy wins----70---55 over Nebraska.
-
JaQuan Lyle off the board

Consensus: Some of us may not want Lyle----but none of us want O$U to get him either! -
Yep---44-36 Wiscy over the Huskers with about 15 minutes to go in game.
-
I just keep thinking about what this IU team might look like with an Okafor in the middle! Sigh. A fella can dream---right?
