Come on Woodson---join our merry band! You could be the Team Doctor---King Cody missed the Charlotte/Toronto game tonight ----and he's been playing so well! -
MSU is MSU---they have had injuries and they almost always close the season strong----this year will be no different. That final big ten game against them in The Hall is going to be a battle! I am hoping our defense is finally at least average by then----we can beat them!
-
Stanford choked in regulation----UCLA pulls it out in Double OT---they needed that win badly! Stevie breathes a sigh of relief. I hope Crean gets to also after the O$U game!

True. And the defense by our guards has not been much better. Call me crazy----but we are just an AVERAGE defense away from being a top 20 team.

Thank you! -
You're getting warmer-----except I would root for Rose Hulman because those kids are very smart---smart enough to pick an engineering school---- not named Purdue! I actually rooted for Alford when he coached Manchester--SWMS---and at first at Iowa. I loved his playing days and his values and character and I was a Board Member for Big Brothers/Big Sisters and I got to meet him and we hired him to speak----then he lost my backing after the Pierce matter--he failed to do the Knight thing/right thing in my book---all for the sake of winning to try to save his job at Iowa---and followed that up by taking Recker after he left IU and used him against us---low class moves in my book for a former IU great---I had contacts at Iowa who I believe that described a different Alford then I thought I knew--I lost a lot of respect for him---and finally he really hasn't excelled as a coach---I put him on the same level as Crean--no better. It's not that I root against Alford's teams----I just don't think his coaching is any better then Crean's and imo Crean has better character and values. I don't like saying this about one of our own---but that's just how I feel. I still hope he succeeds but there are valid reasons why IU has steered clear of him in its coaching searches. I like Butler when they are not playing IU---even though their fanbase is cocky and arrogant and often act like they are college basketball elite when they haven't actually WON anything. Now that I have managed to offend everyone---I will end this post. :ninja:

So true at times. I have watched the games closely and I have identified the 4 major types of defenses we play: Man to Man----Zones----Presses----and The Matador. Unfortunately---the only one we have perfected at this time is The Matador---which involves putting absolutely no pressure on the ball or shooters in the hopes they will miss because they are so wide open---it's reverse psychology. In The Matador---we don't stop the ball and if they drive down the lane we just wave them on through like the old Matador does the bull---and let them have uncontested lay-ups or dunks. The Matador defense has not been working out very well and we are now feverishly working on the other three types of defenses----I hope we get them perfected---QUICKLY!.

PRESS RELEASE: In a classic NBA battle tonight featuring two IU greats who were first round draft picks the Charlotte Hornets beat the Pelicans. The Hornets were propelled by the strong play of former IU center King Cody Zeller who put up 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. The Pelicans fought hard in the loss and featured former IU guard Eric Gordon who has been rounding back into shape after an injury. Gordon had 14 points, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. When asked about his health after the game Gordon said the last time he felt this good was when he spurned Illinois and chose to attend college and play basketball at IU. Zeller who was standing nearby smiled when Gordon made that comment and Zeller responded "yeah---he went there"! OK---serious question---is Charlotte the Hornets or the Bobcats now???? I wish they would make up their mind! -

That was unbelievable and horrifying-----I can't believe that ANYONE would murder INNOCENT people in cold blood in the name of God???? Ridiculous. Someone is going to be waiting for them at the pearly gates----and it ain't going to be pretty! -
Ouch---Watch it now---UE is the only D1 team we have down here in deep southwest Indiana----and they have the IU ties from the past with Crews and now with Simmons. We root for the local school when IU is not playing. They actually are pretty scrappy this year ---with good guard play. Their record is about the same as IU's and they have lost a couple they should have won. That sounds familiar! :)

Louisville beats Clemson in an uninspiring performance---58-52. Why couldn't we have played THAT Louisville....
-
#12 Kansas survives against #21 Baylor------56-55. Yawn----every year numerous Big 12 teams are ranked highly and usually underperform in the big dance!
-
Drilling down-----Trimble had 17 for the Terps. Guard Malcolm Hill went off for the Illini---28 points. Eqwu----had 11 points and 9 boards. I hope Illinois victories do not become a habit this year----I feel your pain on that one Hovadipo! Good win for them after the key injury.
-
Good for IU to see Maryland get that 64-57 loss to the Illini tonight. Just goes to show that life on the road in the Big Ten is not easy----no matter who you are playing!
-
Evansville lost another heartbreaker tonight. Evansville had a one point lead with one second left and lost on a last second shot! And it was poorly defended I might add.
-
Right now---I am picking Duke over UK in the championship game------Calipari's superior talent is not enough as once again he gets outcoached in the championship game.
-
Because they are the Big Ten's biggest and brightest hope this year---protected at all costs. And----unusual foul proportions are common in the Kohl Center----must be the gravitational pull on the other teams or something!
-
Oh---- that never happens with Wisconsin! Nevermind---that happens all the time! The zebras do have their favorites!
