This will be an exciting thing to unfold
-
I don't have any idea if this is a good hire or not. I feel better about Matta coming along and excited to see how the rest of the staff comes together soon. What I LOVE is the romantic ideal.of this. I hadn't considered that this dude spilled his guts on the floor in AH once, and he has no doubt been watching closely since he stopped playing. And then he's there on the court during Bob Knights return (which was a big moment). Now he's here and probably about to consume himself with the first thing on his list.... "BEAT PURDUES FN HEAD IN". Due to this, LETS FN GO

Candidate Thread: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)

I was at work sorting out running an event for employees and said "I'll man the drink station". I got yelled at by corporate HR about my "male supremecy" and kicked off the Culture Team. I assume a mod will be closing your account soon here at BTB. Nice knowing ya, lol -

I've had 3 top shelf long islands and a frozen rum my wife didn't like.. ALLLLL my exes live in Texas.. and Texas is the place.. -
Right. Some kids are just ready physiologically. They have a shadow beard in 7th grade like a guy on my team did. He had to bring his birth certificate to every fn game to prove. Lander, is not that. He wasn't ready for the speed regardless, but his body is definitely not ready.

Exactly, it's not Beard. Unless it's fine tuning details, X him off. We weren't after him or it was a hard no. -

Hopefully, this is good news on the other side of the process for us. At least a pretty good hire, should/could net us better transfers than ever before to get us up and running. We need to get there before the pond runs dry though. -

All I ask is that 1 of our players doesn't run another player over with a Ford Escape

I think reality is setting in now. IU is nearly a big ten bottom feeder. We had some luster left when Crean came in and re-enerized everything. It's all gone now. We aren't a sleeping giant. If all that resource, and fans, and venue meant ANYTHING at this point, we wouldn't be at this point. The only people it means anything to are the people like we have here on this board. We are hopeless romantics with IU basketball. Alford is all of a sudden not looking as bad(edit: I forgot he seems uninterested...spurned by the golden boy). Drew is about the best candidate we have and besides coming home, there is nothing for him at IU. I guess we are reduced to just taking another shot at an up and comer. And so I'm right back to my original thought. A proven TM/JB is probably a marginally better decision than Woodson/Lewis/Fife/Porter. And finally, if behind the scenes we are truly failing at these negotiations, IU needs to call the interim audible and take the year to get it right. I'll take 1 year if it means actual homerun. It couldn't be any worse than the garbage basketball we just watched. 'Le sigh -

I gotta admit that the Hanmer thing and ongoing sentiment that he's dirty and doing illegal things has always jist turned me off. Now I question that narrative if we were just butthurt and I should take an unemotional look here again. He's an upgrade over Archie. Even not hanging a banner, he's having wayyyyy more fun than we are. I want that fun. -
Same. I don't think the thug comment is that serious, his record is what we'd drool over. I think Matta is a bigger game then JB. It's JB, Beard or Musselman. Everything else is greater risk to me.

Man this board really needs something to lock onto. This little desert of no-info has turned into a pissing match of people who speak in absolutes that know absolutely nothing about what would, could or can happen. Also the same point being made 35x. Relax, wait for some news. -

Agree. I also think the majority of the fan projected list of candidates is an upgrade regardless from Arch. IU was going no where a few weeks ago. I think the BIGGEST gamble we can take is to play the up and comer card again a 2nd time. We can't do Fife (yet) or the others. We have to hit the main list. I'm good with any of them really (glad Alford is a no). Dolson is giving it a real shot it would seem. And that's all we can be happy with at this point. -
