Green actually makes his teammates better.. other than the recent Iowa game, Blackmon could easily take notes from Green. We are all aware with ur love affair with Blackmon and that's fine to have a favorite player. I don't agree he is as good as u think though. He helps us when he is shooting out of his mind. Yea, we as posters here are the hardcore fans. Almost every single IU fan around me sees almost no problem keeping Crean on for years if need be, unless Brad Stevens comes calling. They see any other hire as a waste of time.. I was also told I need to have "realistic expectations, it isn't the 1980s anymore where the blue bloods dominate all".. I can somewhat understand that but we just want a banner people! Honestly, not even that. I would be on the Crean train if he would have just hit a final four game.. maybe even elite eight. EXACTLY!! A turn key program.. one basically cocked and loaded for deep runs.. couldn't snag one good coach... which means, no other coach wants to take us on as a rabid fanbase.. the whole thing is concerning and makes me think Hoosier Nation might be turning off potential hires. Maybe we should operate like the has-been program we are and quit acting like we are an elite blue blood with expectations of "hang a banner or get out"... ugh, this whole thing has me in knots and confused on what I would want, going forward.. Or, the thing is already taken care of and we all don't have anything to worry about. Really hoping this is just a move to keep Crean from being booed since we are about to send him off. If that's the case, totally fine with this move. OR, tell us now he will move on after this season, play this home game and I'm willing to bet many of us would come and cheer our butt off and give Crean a great applause for rebuilding our program as clean as possible and also making this a "turn-key" program for the next hire. I'm not sure Morgan took a step back this year. He may have hit a few less 3s but he is much improved around the hoop and especially rebounding. Bryant absolutely took a step back other than a decent 3 point stroke. OG, I'd say he was on par with the prior year (like against UK in tourney) but not enough to make a real call. This is a great discussion. Really is. I'm just thinking, what if Tom Crean was/is exhausted from this project in his own way and he has already been making moves himself? The perception is that we are doing everything we can do get him out. Maybe he already wanted out? I'm saying maybe he isn't the right guy because he doesn't want to be the guy. It's all too much for him. Maybe a connection with failing so many recruiting options this past 1-2 years. If 2 years ago we truly were talking with Donovan, Crean may have already started making inroads, outta here. In my head, so many discussion points come from the perspective, what is a lateral hire or upgrade or homerun. "Lets keep Crean for one more year." Agreed, I couldn't care less about him losing his mind in Canada. I've been waiting for 8 or maybe 7 years for it with Crean. Crean losing his mind at the wisky game and tearing that locker door off its hinges was my top 3 Crean moments (UK buzzer beater gangster face, Tim Miles fisticuffs).
