  1. Had a chance to watch Montverde's game on Saturday against Central Pointe. It was a mismatch from the start and Montverde won 75-47 but what a pleasure it was to watch Jalen. Non-stop motor, very active on defense, great court awareness. I had him with 13 pts on 6-11 FG; 1-5 on 3s; 9 reb; 9 asst; 2 stl in what I estimate was 24 min. of court time. Also holding IU offers from Montverde are '23 Kwame Evans and '24 Derik Queen. Evans played about 14 min. scoring 8 pts. on 2-2 on 3s; 2-2 FT; 1 stl. Queen played about 10 min. and was scoreless going 0-4 FG but did have 4 reb. Montverde is so deep in talent and underclassmen have to be willing to bide their time.

  4. PUke in the national championship game with a perfect record and they win the title by default when the opponent has to forfeit due to COVID.
  5. Former Top-50 recruit Dain Dainja has announced that he will leave Baylor and enter the transfer portal. Was a redshirt freshman for the Bears, now available. 7’7 wingspan and has great size, was a Top-10 forward in his class.

  8. Jake Weingarten: 2024 prospect Ayden Evans will visit Indiana tomorrow for an unofficial, he told @Stockrisers. Ohio State, Louisville, amongst those involved with the Louisville native. Evans is a 6'8" PF who will attend North Hardin HS in Radcliff, KY. He played AAU for the Louisville Magic on the Adidas circuit -- teammate of Damone King. Didn't find anything on MaxPreps or Hudl. 247 @AydenEvans9 Sept. story: https://wvsportsnow.com/2024-f-ayden-evans-receives-first-d-i-offer-from-west-virginia/ July story: https://247sports.com/college/louisville/Article/Louisville-basketball-recruiting-Ayden-Evans--168216704/
  9. You whined so much after I kicked your kiester last year so I'm going easy on you early on but you better keep looking over your shoulder and don't get a whiplash injury when I blow by you.
  10. Nothing on MaxPreps or Rivals. Played AAU for Louisville Magic on the Adidas circuit. Hudl @DamoneKing2 In a scrimmage game this past weekend he had 16pts 6rebs 5asst Louisville Courier-Journal 3 days ago -- Player to watch: Damone King, a 6-2 sophomore, averaged 10.1 points and 2.3 rebounds last season and has emerged as one of the state’s top players in the Class of 2024. He already holds a scholarship offer from Ohio University. “He’s more athletic than he was last year,” Coleman said. “Last year his go-to was his mid-range shot, and he’s really worked a lot on his 3-point shot. He’s worked to improve his game a lot.”
  11. IU Artifacts @IUArtifacts Coach @MikeWoodsonNBA tonight became only the 6th coach in #iubb history to start 4-0 in their first season in Bloomington: Bob Knight, 1971-72 Branch McCracken, 1938-39 George Lewis, 1920-21 Dana Evans, 1917-18 Guy Lowman, 1916-17
  12. 20 assists on 26 made field goals. Love it. Johnson has 6; Lander has 4.
  13. Just saw this -- Khristian Lander played 13 minutes all season before tonight. He played the final 13 minutes of the first half tonight. 6 PTS, 4 REB, 3 AST, 2 STL, 2 TO, +13
  14. Hope the fouls don't become an issue in the second half. Also concerned if we'll maintain our focus and not give them any opportunity to think they can get back into this game.

  17. Mostly a pre-season story on McNeil's high school team but includes a couple of comments on McNeil. https://www.richmondobserver.com/sports/item/14199-season-preview-talented-raiders-shooting-for-conference-state-titles.html
  18. Quite a milestone for Jordan playing in the German basketball league.
  19. Bettina Newton @Simplydivine_17 Got to meet a member of our new IU family @KentDavis14 who came out to support @jakai_newton at his game last night! Man, IU fans are THE BESTTTT! Thank you Kent! P.S that beautiful lady in the red IU sweatshirt is Jakai's proud Nana (my mom) @KarenMizell1! Everybody say hello!
  20. On The Radar Hoops -- Kaleb Banks | 6-8 | SF | Fayette County | 2022 (Signed with Indiana) How about the Hoosiers establishing a beachhead in ATL grabbing Banks and Newton from this list alone. This long-strider at 6-8 can really break you down off the bounce and seems to glide by folks with an ease that obviously will translate well to the Big Ten. Polished scoring and defense that can cover you inside and out, he’ll once again be the catalyst for an FCHS club that has designs on getting back to the 4A Finals for another shot at the title.
  21. On The Radar Hoops -- Jakai Newton | 6-4 | SG | Newton | 2023 (signed with Indiana) Stamped his own place as a major player to watch despite the tremendous talent around him in Covington, and it was easy to see why during the summer as he was nearly unguardable at times. Has that great gift of swift pace to explode by you yet has such a high IQ as a scorer he can back it off and pick you apart with his multi-level scoring talent. Physical and fleet-afoot as a defender, he will be tremendous over his last 2 seasons with the Rams and a big-time contributor in the Big Ten with the Hoosiers.
  22. #iubb is an 11.5-point favorite vs. Louisiana, o/u 139.5. Pomeroy puts it at 15 & gives the Hoosiers a 91% chance of victory.
