  2. Big night for Gibbs-Lawhorn scoring 28 pts. in a 96 - 80 win over Wasatch. He was 8-14 FG; 0-2 on 3s; 12-14 FT; 3 reb; 1 asst; 1 stl; 2 TO; 2 blk.
  3. Important to me to see how we bounce back from this game and play Nebraska on Saturday.
  4. I'm not sure how much gas either team has left in their tank.
  5. In his season opener Rooths with 17 pts. and 7 reb. in a 73 -52 Georgetown Prep win over Sandy Spring.
  6. Some of you really need to take a hike. You don't offer anything but repeatedly posting the same negativity just rearranging your wording. No IU fan is happy with how the first half has gone but it is what it is. We weren't going to go undefeated it was just when we lost our first (and it won't be the last) game and who we would lose to. Some of you are really no better than PUke trolls with your comments and you come out of the woodwork when any IU team struggles and then disappear when they play well which begs the question are you a real IU fan or not? Do us all a favor and go join another board or start your own.
  7. In a game earlier tonight, Mount Vernon was beaten by Marist 46-40. I had Scott with 7 pts. on 3-9 FG; 1-2 on 3s; 0-1 FT; 7 reb; 0 asst; 2 stl; 1 TO; 0 blk in approx. 25 min. of court time. The game is available on YouTube and starts about the 35 min. mark.
  8. Full day of hoops at Brownsburg HS this coming Saturday in its Sneakers for Santa event. Brownsburg vs. Plainfield, 10 a.m. Gary 21st Century vs. Tuscola (Ill.), 11:30 a.m. Hammond Central vs. Fort Wayne North Side (Tae Johnson) 1:15 p.m. Crispus Attucks vs. Linton-Stockton (Joey Hart), 3 p.m. Carmel (Sam Orme) vs. Homestead, 4:45 p.m. Lawrence North vs. Heritage Christian, 6:30 p.m. NOTE: C. J. Gunn is out until the end of December with a broken toe. Cathedral (Xavier Booker) vs. Brush (Ohio), 8:15 p.m.:
  9. No. 2 IMG Academy versus No. 1 Montverde Academy (FL) on ESPN+ this Friday night at 8PM ET. '24 SG Anthony Gilkes plays on the IMG team and had an UV to IU at the end of October.
  10. Damone King, a visitor to Bloomington last Tuesday night opened his HS season last night with a 71 - 53 win over North Oldham. He finished with 21 pts, 3 reb, 3 asst.
  11. I have a cousin who is a dept. head at ND and he's repeatedly told me that Kelly has never had the love that Holtz and Parseghian had and rubs a lot of (important) people the wrong way. Also, he's suffered pretty bad losses in some pretty big games.
  12. Tucker with 26 pts. in a Mount St. Joseph win over Archbishop Curley last Wednesday. Tonight Mount St. Joseph overwhelmed St. Mary's from the opening tipoff and won 80 - 50. Tucker played just 22 min. sitting out the entire 4th Q. He finished with 18 pts. on 7-15 FG; 1-6 on 3s; 3-3 FT; 7 reb; 4 asst; 1 stl; 1 TO; 1 blk. The following is a statemen Travis Branham made on Tucker following a DMV Live Event held last June: "He has an array of one- and two- dribble pull-ups, step-backs and even turnaround fade-aways out of the mid-post." He exhibited every one of those in tonight's game.
  13. Story on this game and includes additional stats for McNeil. https://www.richmondobserver.com/sports/item/14266-paul-mcneil-the-official-richmond-county-male-athlete-of-the-week.html
  14. From Mike Schumann: Some KenPom fun: Indiana is predicted to win the game 74-73 over Syracuse, a score many of you will instantly recognize in that series.
  15. Excellent news. @Aaron what's your assessment of our current back-up goalkeeper with the expectation Celentano is gone? Do we actively seek a transfer for this position as well?
  16. Her season opener is Dec. 3. Pre-season story from the Rochester Post-Bulletin. Last season: 9-8 overall, 6-5 Big Nine. Lost 73-35 to eventual champion Farmington in the second round of the Section 1AAAA playoffs. Key returners: Lilly Meister, Sr., forward, 21 ppg., 11 rpb; Katie Hurt, Sr., guard, 14 ppg., 4 apg; Sarah Mullenbach, Jr., guard/wing; Stacie Mullenbach, Jr., wing/forward; Ava Hagland, Sr., guard/wing. Outlook: It was a strange season a year ago for John Marshall, with some surprises to begin things with a couple of girls not going out for the team, among other things. Mix in the COVID-19 restrictions and times were even tougher. Still, the Rockets improved as the season went along, winning five of their last eight games. JM has a couple of true stars, led by 6-foot-2 senior forward Lilly Meister, who will play at Big Ten power Indiana next season. Meister was All-State last year when she averaged 21 points and 11 rebounds. Next to her is another senior standout and future Division I player, 5-11 guard Katie Hurt. Hurt (14 points, 4 assists per game) will play next season at Lehigh. The key for JM will be getting enough out of those not named Meister and Hurt. The Rockets did get some crucial varsity experience a year ago from a host of players. Coach Phil Schroeder says: "We have a great group of kids who work hard every day and are fun to coach. Hopefully, the season won't be interrupted, and we'll be able to get better as the season progresses." ROSTER Seniors: Katie Hurt, 5-11, guard; Shaely Nelson, 5-8, guard; Ava Haglund, 5-7, guard; Olivia Gorden, 5-7, guard; Brea Schad, 5-5, guard; Jadyn Currie, 5-7, guard; Elli Biermeier, 5-7, forward; Lilly Meister, 6-2, forward. Juniors: Dezirae Dotterwick, 5-4, guard; Brianna Aikens, 5-3, guard; Sarah Mullenbach, 5-8, guard; Stacie Mullenbach, 5-9, forward; Gayla Klebig, 5-10, forward. Sophomores: Kate Novak, 5-6, guard; Freshmen: Jacey Nelson, 5-8, guard; Laynie Meister, 6-0, forward; Ciara Seifert, 6-0, forward.
  17. Slipped 2 spots in the AP poll.
  18. Despite Syracuse 3-3 record, gonna be a tough one and we'll see what Woody's game plan is for attacking the Syracuse zone. Earlier today in his zoom presser these comments from Woody: "The zone is what it is, guys, we can't run from it. ... When I played I licked my chops when I saw zones." He also said he'll know more on Rob's status later today but he has been practicing some. "I go into every game with Trayce knowing he's going to get trapped. ... We design things knowing he's going to get trapped from different spots on the floor." Radio Live Stats
  19. Walk-ons may get a little playing time tonight for the Illini. Rothstein: Illinois' Andre Curbelo (undisclosed), Trent Frazier (leg), Jacob Grandison (illness), and Benjamin Verdonk (flu) are all "highly unlikely" to play tonight against Notre Dame, per Brad Underwood. And Rothstein's walking wounded report for O$U: Ohio State's Justice Sueing (abdominal) is "weeks away" from returning, per Chris Holtmann. Seth Towns (back) is expected to return in mid-to-late December. Eugene Brown (concussion) is day-to-day.
  20. In the Pebblebrook loss I referenced immediately above, G-L finished with 11 pts. on 4-11 FG; 1-6 on 3s; 2-2 FT; 3 reb; 3 asst; 1 stl; 5 TO
  21. This is from The Daily Hoosier; link to full story is in the above post. “Jakai Newton is a pure scorer who’s always in attack mode,” Markwith wrote. “The Indiana commit finished with 17 points & 5 rebounds but his 17 points were all loud buckets that got the crowd on their feet.
