  1. Need somebody on scene to let us know if any of the Not-So-Fab 5 are sporting any blackeyes today.
  2. Before the complete story broke and it was still rumors, I saw 2 different comments that all of the presumed suspendees were participating in the shootaround except Stewart who reportedly was just standing at the mid-court line.
  3. More honors for Mackenzie. Junior forward Mackenzie Holmes is one of seven players nationally to be added to the 2022 Wade Watch list at the midseason point, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced today. She joins teammates Ali Patberg and Grace Berger on the 37-player list. Holmes is averaging a team-high 17.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and shooting 61.5 percent from the floor in 14 games. She has scored in double figures in 13 of 14 games, recorded three double-doubles and averages 1.9 blocks per game. Holmes currently ranks sixth in school history with 134 career blocks and became the 30th member of IU's 1,000-point club earlier this season. She has been sidelined with a knee injury since Jan. 5. The Gorham, Maine native is making her first appearance on the Wade Trophy watch list this season as she has also appeared on the 2022 Lisa Leslie Award watch list, Naismith Trophy midseason watch list and Wooden Award midseason Top 25. She was also a 2021-22 preseason All-Big Ten honoree, The Athletic preseason All-American honorable mention and two-time Big Ten Player of the Week. The Wade Trophy — now in its 45th year — is the oldest and most prestigious national player of the year award in college women's basketball. It is named in honor of the late, legendary Delta State University head coach Lily Margaret Wade, who won three consecutive national championships with the Lady Statesmen. First awarded in 1978 by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), now known as SHAPE America, the Wade Trophy has been presented to the WBCA NCAA Division I National Player of the Year since 2001. This is the first year that freshmen players are eligible for the award. However, no freshmen are on the Wade Watch list. The WBCA will announce the four finalists for the honor in mid-March. The winner of the 2022 Wade Trophy will be announced in late March or early April on a date to be determined.

  9. It is with a sad and heavy heart that I must concede my title as reigning champ of Prediction League. I've fought the good fight but must acknowledge that age has slowed me down and I can no longer bring my "A" game to each and every prediction. I'll patiently await my induction into the Prediction League Hall of Fame. Thank you one and all.
