Last night's Rockets Warriors game was the first game in NBA history in which both teams attempted 40+ 3-pointers; both attempted 44. Gordon continues to play well coming off the bench but getting starter minutes. Troy started again but had a dreadful shooting night. Tyra's 38 points are the 4th highest IU single game and she moved into 19th in total points scored. With just a little help, they could have won this game but as good as she is, she needed some help. The bench was useless and except for Royster's 11 minutes, you can tell from the other player's minutes that Coach Moren didn't have much faith that they could contribute.

I'm sure it has to do with all the fine print in his contract and to agree to the buyout makes it quick and clean and any dirty laundry doesn't have to get aired in a later legal battle over what he may or may not be entitled to. And then I just saw this from Osterman: Under contract terms, if fired without cause, Wilson would be owed $542k/yr for next five. Mitigation would wipe it off if he got new job. So to be clear, IU is going to keep Wilson on the books in base salary for a year. No new job would change that.

'Tis the season for ankle injuries. Michigan State’s frontline has been plagued by injuries since the start of the preseason. On Thursday, Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo announced that the injury bug has struck again, this time biting the one player the Spartans can’t afford to lose. Miles Bridges, the ultra-talented freshman forward, will miss a couple of weeks due to an ankle injury, according to Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press.

Yogi's return to D-League was very productive. LI Nets won 114-104; Yogi played 38 minutes; 18 pts. on 7-18 FGs; 10 assists and 4 reb.

Certainly good news but doesn't mesh well with how badly he looked on the court or CTC's high ankle sprain diagnosis. Typically, high ankle sprains have a lengthy healing time. We certainly don't need anything injury related surfacing in our basketball program on the heels of today's news.

If the new permanent coach isn't Allen, expect most of the current staff to look for jobs elsewhere. It's just the nature of the beast that an outside hire will want 'his people' on his staff. A couple of the current staff could be rehired, but I would expect a substantial turnover.

The only ray of sunshine I see is that better now than closer to spring practice or after spring practice. It is the time of the year for coaches to look at possible moves and there are lots of possibilities out there.
