ummm...no response. i'm wrong, i know and i promise to never let it happen again. Will there be an NCAA investigation into the matter? If so, take back all that i have said and "no comment". Holy cow! did anyone know there is an IU bass fishing team? I was looking for some dumb GIF to respond and found the IU bass fishing team website and FB page. It's official, i'm starting a IU ALUM salmon fishing team. who's in?

Niece and wife at the weigh in with their Silvers.

Lingcod. Tasty but this one was too small to keep. We were hoping to catch some monsters so we threw all we caught back
-
Copper Rockfish caught by my visiting niece (IU alum as well). We ended up throwing a bunch of these Rockfish.

While visiting an island in Prince William Sound so the ladies could get a "rest break", Got to do some casts and catch some Pink Salmon off the back of the boat. We actually stayed too long on the island and the tide dropped causing us a scare to get the boat back out to the ocean. it was stuck!

Nice Silver that actually looked like a Chum Salmon. Would have bet money it wasn't a Silver. Look at the faded stripes on the side which Silvers NEVER have. But, when we checked it in, it was indeed a Silver.

Me running the kicker for trolling.

Was in Valdez for the Women's Silver Derby this past weekend. We did pretty good out on my boat. Caught everything in the Pacific Ocean it seems. The women ended with up with a couple 6+ lb. Silver (Coho) Salmon that they weighed in. The weather was exceptionally warm and the Silvers were running deep. I believe the winner of the derby was 13lbs. Which is about 3lbs short of what it should be for this time of year. Heading back down over labor day for the BIG Silver run and hopefully the weather will be shitty so the Silvers are up higher in the water column. I will start posting photos after this with the names of the fish caught.

where did you catch that brownie?

I will be there! Last time i went, we called IU and asked for tickets but that didn't work. I ended up phoning the center there in Maui and secured them that way. The ticket packages they offer didn't work for us because we were staying elsewhere and traveling from here in AK so we had to go that route. I will keep you posted on how we end up getting ours.

Red "Sockeye" Salmon down on the Klutina River. The last photo was a nice 8 pounder. the first photo was my first of the year and i was pretty stoked! As you can tell, it was friggin' chilly! After this, drove down to Valdez and slayed Halibut, Rockfish, yellow-eye and about everything else. Freezer is getting there! Probably heading down the the Gulkana and/or Klutina for King "Chinook" Salmon this weekend. I will let you all know.

i use raised beds. up here where i live we are on big hills and there is alot of shale and clay. Of course, the valley folks have good soil. But, i have no idea what it is. Most of them have permafrost though and can't plant till later in the season so they use raised beds too. If we were down in South Alaska, they have a much more temperate climate and the soil is amazing. They have difficulties with corn too. Oh, i have a question: Has anyone tried growing potatoes in hay/straw instead of soil? my buddy did it last year and the taters were awesome.

OF- I really would like to bury you in my garden for fertilizer.. or use you for bear bait. just sayin.

We have everything growing on the dining room table right now. Still waiting for it to warm up to get them planted outside. We have zuchini, turnips, kale, an assortment of tomatoes, cucumbers and squash. Gardening is pretty huge up here despite the short growing season. 20+ hours of sunlight makes up for it and everything grows well except corn. For some reason corn doesn't grow. I have asked around and the old locals say it is because corn needs night time. That sounds strange to me, but maybe one of you corn specialist can answer that one.

ha "Yukon"! pretty clever OF

Aloha, you are a horrible, terrible person. No wonder no one likes you. MSB probably didn't want to say for you to suck it because you are fringe stalker/active shooter and didn't want to have to take you down when you went nutso. just sayin'

So, he cut my message short, left off a few names and didn't tell Aloha to suck it...like i asked him to. oh well. Nothing bad about a MSB motivational monday video to get your week off right.
