  1. Absolutely. I would prefer MOST mid major guys we add to be bench pieces as opposed to putting our chances of success on them as starters UNLESS as you mentioned they are dominant at that level. Bailey, Dorn and Conerway are guys that had success but weren't dominant at the mid major level and they tried to force them into starting roles. In general attempting to start 4 mid major guys in the Big Ten is usually going to end poorly unless you're Iowa apparently.
  2. The whole "we shouldn't go after anymore mid major players" argument is lazy and nonsense. There are countless examples of mid major players succeeding at P5 schools. It's as simple as the coaching staff (and now Ryan Carr) hitting on their evaluations. Each player is a different case and shouldn't be grouped in based on their conference. I don't know enough about this Robert Morris player to make an argument one way or another but I feel like we're capable of digging a little deeper before we write players off.
  3. He thought he was Jack Golkhe
  4. If this game had 5 more minutes Kansas might have been in trouble. Dominique Daniels Jr. is a little spark plug.
  5. It's a gamble but for a school of their caliber it's the only way to really have a shot at a title. With Saunders I would've had that team making a nice run. But again, one injury to any of those 3 and you're toast. They needed some sort of production from the post and couldn't get any.
  6. Losing Saunders killed them because they were already very top-heavy talent wise. After he went out it was basically a 2 man team from an offensive perspective. And if Wright has a bad game, like tonight, even a monster performance from Dybantsa wasn't enough to win.
  7. After the IU/UK game I thought I'd never have to suffer through another Chuck/Dickie broadcast and yet here we are once again not discussing the game whatsoever. This is an NCAA Tournament game mind you.
  8. Counter argument. When you only have 1 shot maker it's not that hard to focus your defense on him and make someone else beat you. And when that team has no one else, there's your scoring drought. It was a roster construction/lack of talent issue, not a "Lamar Wilkerson isn't a good enough scorer" issue.
  9. No need, that's what the union is for ;)
  10. All we had to do was beat Northwestern....and we had 2 chances to do it.
  11. Does Cluff have an actual skill other than hooking? I swear he does it every play and it's rarely called.
  12. Excited for my annual tradition of melting down by the end of Day 1.
  13. I can't bring myself to ever root for Cal
  14. Just caught the last 8 minutes or so but Amadou Seini was controlling the paint, blocking or contesting everything. I see he's a 7'1, 230 lb Sr. but it doesn't show any rating or even any interested schools. He'd be an interesting guy to use a 13th roster spot on as a project.
  15. I predicted him to be a Hoosier as soon as we hired DeVries and was also shocked he went elsewhere.
  16. Body language says I should find something else to watch because this one's over. One team's playing like their tournament hopes are on the line and the other is playing like they want to move onto whatever's next in their lives.
  17. I'd rather just stick an actual metal post in there than Bailey
  18. I've noticed that a lot this season, this team doesn't process things very quickly. Pretty sad for a team full of seniors.
  19. This is a terrible product out on the court right now. Seems like this team is regressing.
  20. I mean get Enright out of the game he's outright refusing to shoot the ball
