When I worked at the UNC athletic department a long time ago, there was always talk of every possible scenario. It is and should be a fluid business. If you’re not fluid then chances are you don’t trust the people around you or just not doing a good enough job. I don’t doubt @Chris007heard something it doesn’t mean decisions don’t get shifted or are not discussed. The way @KathywithaC discusses the process either shows people are incompetent in that department or she’s a troll. Either way thanks for raising the posting numbers so that this thread becomes stuff of legends.

If this happens then I’m done with IU sports because not only will our administration be corrupt but will also reach the mountain top of stupidity. We finally get an excellent football program ( which brings 10x more money than basketball) and we fire the guy the football coach likes…….. done. Deactivate this account if this happens this year.

I can confirm that a couple trustees at UNC mentioned Brad Stevens independently from each other. Don’t know if it means anything just that Hubert Davis’s job is definitely on the line.

Coaches recognize a bad coach. They also know how pitiful he is at high school recruiting. Candidate’s won’t care because they talk to each other. We’re we might find problems is through the administration. If they’re too many cooks in the kitchen then elite candidates might shy away.

This whole thing has been extra infuriating to me because my job entails fixing problems at Duke when departments have issues. Sometimes it takes a bit to evaluate what the issues are , but this through just plain observation, it was so obvious what needed to be done. Him rejecting Thad Matta would have been the first alarm bell.

Then should have been fired when he ignored his media obligations….. u guys get the drift.
