The only situation I can think of with no leaks is the luka trade. That was an owner to owner trade and done within a hour of conversing. Time and two high profile fan bases like IU and Boston just lead to this. Stevens is also unfortunately a type of manager where u have to play the patient long game to try and court him ( breaking bad thing to me is weird though) , and that leads to accidental encounters with fans who know who they are. Gonna be a small leak here and there. Again not saying the guy is right there but the timing march 2nd would be ideal for me.

With contract negotiations that have high eye appeal, there’s always someone that talks. Just so many people who try to pry. Reporters, fans, alumni, former players, kids at school who know someone who’s parent is in the heat of it. Happened with Duke and UNC vacancies and with my friends who worked the Soto contract I was told that the manager’s son went on tik tok and was first to leak actual numbers. I’m not saying it’s true but I would imagine that march 2 would be the time I would love for it to be released. Gives Brad time to settle things in Boston and from our end it’s also prior to march madness so we get the publicity and also give announcers at march madness opportunities to bring us up which increases our nil funding through donations. Just my thought process.

I hate disingenuous posters. Others have stated that they don’t think BS is a realistic possibility without receiving scorn. You belittling other posters who still have a different opinion is why they want u to leave. We’ve been through this already and you already know this.

So I have a little experience in these high value contracts at UNC and Duke. I wish I could be definitive one way or the other. I can say that what has been revealed right now is not enough to say Stevens is not coming. These types of contracts and meetings have their highs and lows. Sometimes these things are purposefully delayed because the candidate needs more time to make sure their current job situation is left in a good place. Sometimes it’s a no but candidates are apprehensive to give a definitive no because of the backlash they might receive. At this point I’m eh whatever happens, happens. a friend of mine who helped with the Soto contract told me that after a couple of months of courting him it really boiled down to a half hour. On that day they were down and out and depressed because they thought they were out. My best advice…. Don’t take yourselves so seriously. Whatever happens, happens. Don’t understand people who try to belittle others for having hope though. That’s a certain type of misery I hope we all don’t have or grow out of one day. Go Hoosiers. We’re players now. We’ll be fine this time if Dolson has complete control.

@JerryYeagley23 One last question. Do you get the sense that whoever becomes in charge will have full control of the team with no outside influencers trying to get their way? The person that I would like hired should have full control of every decision. Granted I would hope they listen to ideas but in the end I would like to avoid a “too many chefs in the kitchen” scenario.
