IU basketball is so bad, 41 is now talking to himself!!

I dont know what to expect. Its on the road, even with more talent I cant say IU wins. To be honest I dont know of I want them to.

Ive got a coworker who has connections to Ohio State, where Wilson ended up. From what they are saying, Wilson's departure happened to keep IU from being sued. There was a pending lawsuit by families and Wilson leaving put out that fire.

He kicked players off the team, which happened to be all his players taller than 6'6". Even after that, he made the dance and still advanced. Thats why its viewed as a positive. He didnt sacrifice the integrity of the program and coached up his team.

I wouldnt call Shaka a can't miss hire before Texas. There were a lot of people saying his system was a gimmick and wouldnt translate. We are seeing now that might be true. Its only his 2nd year but its not looking good. Guys like Collins and Miller will be risks for sure. I have looked up both their defensive efficiencies for their career and they both have put up top 30 defenses multiple times. I was actually shocked to see NW have multiple top 30 defenses. I thought at best they would be 70-80, well bc they are Northwestern. Lol Id give both those guys a shot over Crean.

The administration screwed up the hiring process. It wasnt that no big names were interested.

During the game they showed some majorly skewed stats with and without OG. Yeah we scored more and they scored less with OG, did they not see the non conference slate of oppoenent where the stats get padded? Hartman injury is a nonissue. If yoi can beat UNC and Kansas without him, then its a non issue against anyone. This team sucks bc of the coaching (system he runs).

A potential lawsuit against IU is what forced Kevin Wilson out.

According to JMV show today, his guest (reporter) said he knew for 100% certainty that tom Izzo wanted the job and backed off when he found out Crean was in contention. We don't owe Crean any special debt of gratitude. All he did was keep us from having a Hall of Fame coach again!!

An inlaw of mine is good friends with a former Crean player. This player says Crean is the worst player he ever played for.

The gameplan is simple. Slow IU down and make them execute in the half court. Temple didnt have the overall talent to beat Indiana. But Indiana struggled big time. Suracuse did the same thing. They took away transition and forced IU into beating a zone that Crean has never beaten. Crean proceeds to pit Zeller at the top of the key. Louisville shredded the same zone using a guard at the top of the key. Crean should jave used Oladipo there and Zeller on the baseline. Zeller was so uncomfortable taking that shot he wouldnt shoot it. Terrible coaching by not using players in a manner to succeed. Look at Wisconsin, NW, and almost any game Indiana loses. Its always the same. Take away transition bc theu struggle in the half court. Add in continued turnovers, and poor defense for thevoast 9 years. There are no more excuses to be made for the man.

He has recruited on par with conference. The conference os bad right now and we are tenth in that bad conference. Nationally we arent close to the caliber and depth of a Championship contender.

Better get used to names being thrown out there that dont seem logical. I do think Martin is a step above Crean but clearly wouldnt be in the fans top group.

I'm with you on that. If Crean is back, then Glass should be queationed and his seat should also be on the line.

Yep, Hartmann cant be an excuse. You beat Kansas and UNC without him. Anyone using his injury as an excuse is not in reality. Im not as down on Glass as some of you guys are. I dont know the man but I know people who do, and they all say he is very smart and knows what he is doing. I respect those ppl who say that, so I tend to think he will support Crean up until the there is a change. Lastest rumor is on the Rivals national board that there have been positive talks on both sides between Frank Martin and IU. I was a little surprised by that name and looked up his defensive numbers, the guy can coach defense and has shown it over time. Currently the best defense in the country and tied for first in the SEC.

I posted Creans defensive efficiency at IU by year showing he has never had a championship level defense. HH then said those stats were proof Crean has had good enough defenses to win a title. Thats when I realized the guy was just stirring the pot and keeping a conversation going. Or he is related to Crean. Lol

I didnt read it as Ken backtracking at all. He clarified for ppl who wanted more info. Ive had some good pm conversations with some guys over there prior to Ken posting and all he was saying is what was being said behind the scenes over there. I dont know if HH has sources. Ive had run ins with him in the past and he gave me a temporary ban for saying a joke with no profanity or putting anyone down. Basically, he really just banned me for being anti-Crean and thats when I found btown banners. But overall, i tend to think HH just says whatever to show support Crean and rile up the anti-Crean crowd.

Yep. Just miss the NCAAs so a change is forced. Im now fully on the tank the season bandwagon.

The person who posted that is a staunch Crean supporter. Id believe Mile over him every time. Mile is much more objective.

2 things here. First the admin that fired his sister is gone. Second, he said he wasnt ready for that big of a job at that point in his career. He has since excelled at Virginia and in my mind poised for a blueblood job.

The thing about White Id worry about is Duke. He could be lined up for that gig. His father is the AD of Duke..... Overall, White has shown he can win and he emphasizes defense.
