  1. https://x.com/DelphiBrackets/status/1995587624325795921 Delphi Bracketology’s 1st of the year. IU a 6 seed.
  2. https://x.com/Leeleefix/status/1995343504273469726 Ok, if anyone had the tiniest twinge of, “Oh Lane Kiffin can’t be THAT bad……” HE LEFT HIS DOG IN OXFORD!!!!!! He didn’t bother to take it with him. Not only that, the rumor is that the dog, which was kind of a team mascot and was on the field during games and even had his own Twitter was in fact not his and it was all just a ruse to make Kiffin appear more likable. Jesus Christ, are you kidding me.
  3. Very nice. Being ahead of the sticks for once is certainly a nice change. Also saw that Torvik’s November only ratings has IU #7.
  4. Kid is a smokin’ athlete. The move at :19 when he faints left and leaves that kid going right is just nasty.
  5. So that makes, what, UK, UF, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and LSU, correct? Man, if you’d said a month ago that the SEC was going to be replacing 1/3 of their HC’s and Shane Beamer wouldn’t be one of them that person would officially be an oracle right now.
  6. I guess we’ll see but I’m really not feeling that one at all. He probably did about as well as you can realistically do at NW overall, but they were really bad his last couple of years. You bought Smith out for 30 mil to hire Pat Fitzgerald?
  7. Certainly feels like the move, doesn’t it.
  8. He needs to ride with the yellow shoes as long as he’s making shots. Also, looked back at a couple of minutes of the Milwaukee game and I’d guess he’s lost at least 10ths since that one. Maybe a little more.
  9. Every member of that family looks like a cast member of Jersey Shore.
  10. One of the guys on BTN just said, “The Boilermakers are on their way to being a really good football team” over a graphic that said they’ve lost 18 conference games in a row.
  11. BTN just flashed a stat that OSU is only +5 in turnover margin. That seems kind of wild, doesn’t it? I know Sayin doesn’t turn it over, so does their vaunted defense just not turn people over? So they’re only giving up 8 pts a game by basically strangling teams and just not giving up yardage at all? Huh
  12. Am I the only one who didn’t know that Notre Dame and PU play for this thing? The Jeweled Shillelagh! Are you kidding me? That’s the worst trophy I’ve ever seen.
  13. That’s quite a stunner. I don’t know if the guy fits a clinical definition of sociopath but if you look at his public life I’m not sure how it diverges.
  14. Watched the Pace Game tonight along with 1 from a couple of weeks ago against Eastside. The kid’s in the 110 range by 247? No, that’s not gonna be right. That’s pretty low. He’s a 6’6”ish absolutely elite athlete who shows court vision and quick mental processing, some facilitation chops, plays defense hard and while his shot has some funk to it, it just kept going in in both games. Has a little bit of a VJ Edgecombe thing going on. Will be a fun kid to track. If 247’s offer list is correct and right now he just has offers from IU, FSU and some local MM’s, that’s probably really good because he’s an obvious candidate to blow up and if the staff is serious about this one getting something done early would he good here.
  15. Got to say, if Kiffin takes the LSU gig while pushing to coach in the playoffs and Ole Miss tells him to F off and rolls with an interim they will immediately leap to 2nd in my personal rooting order. My loathing for Kiffin outstrips my loathing for the SEC.
  16. The Texas narrative right now is pi$$ing me off to no end. “Oh, if they hadn’t had the ball$ to play OSU early they’d be in after A&M. So they really should be anyway and not penalized for it.” Stop it. If they hadn’t lost to a 3 win team with no HC and scored a late one so it didn’t look so bad and then gotten straight beat down by UGA they’d be in. Here’s my solution: if you lose 3 games, 25% of your schedule, you should be ineligible for the playoff. Period. No exceptions. If you’ve lost 1/4 of your games you don’t get to pray that you get on a heater late and compete with teams who’ve made it happen all year. If they get in I don’t even know what to say.
  17. He’s a sort of Yogi-like small PG going to West Virginia. Good player.
  18. That explains the volume of the booing. IU fans booing PU and PU fans booing…..PU.
  19. My choices today: 1) Dig into Curry, or 2) shovel 8 inches of snow. Gonna be an expert on him by tonight.
  20. Really annoying that I have to do some work today. UConn/Illinois is obviously the headliner but St Mary’s/Vandy is gonna be a really nice game.
  21. Could very well be. Could also be that he’s playing with 2 perimeter kids who really, really like to score, though the rebounding numbers may well point to your thought. Will be interested to see Pike play.
  22. Drink’s agent is The Man. This is the 4th extension in his 6 years based on 2 very good years, 1 ok year and 3 thoroughly unremarkable ones. And he also pulled one of the all time agent okey dokes by convincing the Mizzou money guys that Drink was THIS CLOSE to taking the LSU gig in ‘21 when anyone with enough sense to get out of the rain knew that was nuts. I imagine he was able to leverage Penn St the same way.
  23. In the annals of terrible coaching hires at the highest of high majors, football or basketball, is this the worst? I mean, short of a Kelvin Sampson/IUBB sort of situation. They hired a total cultural misfit who was already 60. The previous 4 years they went 36-15 and won a Natty. In his time they were 34-14 and never finished top 10. They paid the dude NINETY MILLION DOLLARS to get no better and look like utter freaking buffoons at the end of it. Are you kidding me? And you knew it was never going to. At least when Woodward hired Fisher at A&M you could understand the fit. But Brian Kelly and LSU football was absurd on its face. I mean, Jesus.
  24. Yeah there’s a fair bit of that, though it looks different because Wabbington looks like an athlete and Queen looks like Queen. But a lot of what’s getting done is pretty similar. Side note: this game speaks to what a phenom Koa Peat was in HS. He won either 2 or 3 state championships there and 1st year without him they lost this one at home by 30 and Sunnyslope pulled their starters in the 3rd.
