  1. I would have thought that after Indiana sent 3 players last weekend that it might be in the other school's best interest to make an appearance this weekend. It was a very bold move last weekend. One that requires a response, but to see nothing from either school certainly has me curious. That curiosity might amount to a hill of beans, but I know that if the roles were reversed, I would start to feel that staff has started to look elsewhere...because that's typically how it goes. Indiana wants him so bad they can taste it...and Miller is moving all the chips to the center of the table. If we miss, it won't be due to a lack of trying (cough cough...Mike Davis, Tom Crean).
  2. I have located the "source" of Drew's coaching inspiration:
  3. When New Albany played BNL, Frankie's video promo line was like "Watch Langford EMBARRASS Damon Bailey AND his son!!!" Total clown show. New Albany beat BNL pretty convincingly, but embarrass a state legend...nah. Frankie Vision= Terrible Hype Men.
  4. Herbert wanted a minority to replace Davis.....that's what I was always told.
  5. The one thing that I think clearly has Yogi like similarity with Phinisee is how he shoots the ball. He has Yogi's level of verticality and, more importantly, he releases his shot at the very height of that verticality, just like Yogi did. I don't think Phinisee has the handles that Yogi had or the stop/start that Yogi had, but there are things that are similar. We can only hope that Robert provides a direction of improvement.
  6. Barking at me isn't going to change a thing. I get it, you're disappointed with the outcome. Not sure why or how you think this makes things any different or if this is some kind of coping mechanism...but it is the funniest thing I have read. Thank you.
  7. Hardly dude. Getting personal with me after a loss is.... HILARIOUS!!! Hell, if that's what it took to send you over the edge, I would have tried sooner and much, much harder. Have a better night! :)
  8. I'm as disappointed as anyone, but Rutgers wanted it and we played scared...mainly the guards. Is what it is. A bright spot...Durham played bigger tonight while others shrank.
  9. Are you serious with this? It's a bad performance in a bad year with bad players. Lighten up...
  10. Recruiting as a whole is probably going to be under the microscope at least for the next few cycles. I can forsee another attempt of adding a layer of scrutiny to avoid corruption, but as long as the shoe companies are involved and the one and done rule is around...they'll find a way. I hope the NBA starts a true tweener league (or actually make the G league viable for that) for high level prospects so the corrupt can go take a risk on themselves instead of academic institutions who want to compete athletically.
  11. About 1:40 in that is his position of defense. Can't know what goes on...yadda yadda yadda. Get tired of hearing that to be honest. Coaches get paid millions of dollars, in part, to know that they have athletes that are abiding by academic and athletic eligibility rules. Its tied to their contracts for God's sake, but every time...every damn time...out rolls Colonel Klink and Sgt. Schultz.
  12. I think that MSU knows the score and is just trying to go out on top...not that it will be worth a drop of pi$$ in the end. I think the schools that were blindsided are sitting their kids to send a message that they want to be a part of the fix...and the schools that don't sit their kids are riding their guilt all the way down. No way Bridges or the rest of em are clear. I'm reminded heavily of Kevin Ware trying to justify his championship because he had a ring...and failing miserably to understand that the path to the ring was paved with corruption. Enter MSU with a true "Hold my beer" moment.
  13. I think it's very safe to say that any high level recruit that Arizona was actively recruiting should be under a cloud of suspicion. Rightly or wrongly....that's how it goes. I'll add that I'm not sure I'd add any of them...just too risky.
  14. Think that was supposed to read "Ayton and Miller" (the ESPN headline).
  15. Yeah...FT's are kind of a personal thing IMO. I wouldn't too much into the Dayton stats...those guys had gigantic holes throughout their game, but worked really well together as a team. FT's are just about reps and confidence. Indiana kids have been shooting FT's since they could hold a ball and if we are making Indiana kids our core...our ft percentages will rise naturally.
  16. Who's announcing the game inside Assembly Hall? That's not Chuck Crabb.
  17. You are passionate about your position, I can appreciate that. I am passionate about mine. I have watched college teams rise and fall. All of them had one thing in common, a desire to attract certain modern players. Players like those listed today. Players that, if discovered, would lead to program sanctions. Those programs always fail. Every single time. I am not against unreasonable updates to uniforms (lengthening the shorts back in the 80s-90s, widening the uniform top, altering logo). The void that was started today should be clear evidence that tradition means clean. If everything shakes out the way I think it will, Indiana and all it's hokey stuff will look like a rose. The dial will be at 11 all on its own. Besides, Archie rolled back the stuff Crean did at Hysteria and I don't see him reversing course on that.
  18. I consider myself blessed to not understand how or why immaterial, insignificant things should be overhauled to appeal to the non- basketball side of basketball. I'll cheer for the game, you can cheer for jerseys and hype shows.
  19. Jerseys don't win games. If kids choose a school based on jerseys, I don't want them here. Play for Indiana...not that Adidas or Nike jersey. Corruption starts by the eroding of things considered sacred and grows..always has, always will.
  20. Indiana is the embodiment of tradition. The very things you list are the things that have led to money rotting the sport from the inside out. I'll keep the stuff that doesn't appeal to the corrupt. It isn't about jerseys or hype nights here...and if that's all that really matters...my God...can't you see that everything those "cool" schools did cost them their decency? Corruption seeks those capable of being corrupted. Tradition is a deterrent to that very corruption. Indiana wasn't listed today. The rest of the bluebloods were...take some pride in that and quit wanting to be just like them.
  21. Didn't the IndyStar do a write up about Haarms? Thought they said he had diminished eligibility due to his extended stay in club ball. Something like a year was shaved off...don't recall exactly.
  22. Comment of the year (in reference to the ongoing corruption investigation) goes to the guy who said "Who honestly believed that an inner city kid with the IQ of a walnut could get into a prestigious college and wear $600 sneakers without corruption." Game. Set. Match.
  23. I keep seeing backlash as the go-to here. In all seriousness, can anyone cite an example of that being an issue with players going out of state? I'm honestly curious if that's a real thing.
  24. Continually b.s.ing a knowledgeable fanbase isn't a good (or advisable) business model. Not saying that isn't the case, not saying it is.
