  1. C'mon man there's a whole laundry list of programs that proves you wrong. It just takes one great coach to completely change our fortunes.
  2. What support did Tom Allen have in 2019 and 2020 that he somehow didn't have from 2021-2023?
  3. Yeah Hazell is an all time bad hire. But Purdue has been shopping in the MAC aisle for a long time, and they are a clear step above us. Hoeppner looked like he was gonna be really good who was a MAC HC. And before that our best coach was Bill Mallory who was, again, a MAC coach.
  4. Candle has 2 11 win seasons, better than anything Campbell did, and one of them came 7 years after Campbell left. This comparison doesn't hold water.
  5. Imagine him sitting front row in Assembly Hall being a drunkenly belligerent for a big game.
  6. Fitzgerald would be an awful hire when you look at his resume with a microscope. He's had really awful years. His longtime DC retires, NW craters and doesn't ever recover from that. I'll be really disappointed if he's the hire.
  7. Yeah because 64 year old whose never coached in the Power 5 and the greatest coach in college football history are totally the same thing.
  8. He's also 58 so the chances of him being poached to go to a bigger program would be low. Chryst plus an investment in facilities would be massive for the future of IU football.
  9. Do you know the interest level? Or just the fact that he's been contacted. That would be a home run hire if they pull it off.
  10. I'll never forget the good coaching moments Allen had, like hiring Kalen DeBoer, or hiring Kane Wommack, or....I guess that's about it.
  11. He's about to get $20 million just to not be a coach anymore, I would love to be Tom Allen right now.
  12. Yes that's really good by IU standards. But it's not "buyout on the same tier as national champions" level of good.
  13. Looking back at 2019/2020 records, Indiana won 14 games. Only 1 win was against a team that finished the season with a winning record. Wisconsin finished 2020 4-3. Giving that coach a buyout the same level as coaches who has national titles on their resumes should honestly be a fireable offense.
  14. Yep, giving him a contract they weren't ever going to buyout if it went sideways is every bit as bad as hoping somebody poaches him. But instead, Dolson decided to get in the fast lane only to go 55.
  15. Is he Jor'el's son? Is so I'd love to have him.
  16. Or, ya know, Archie Miller.
  17. iirc, Shaka Smart magically decided he wanted to coach Marquette a few days before Beard left Tech to go to Texas. Would be nice if Woodson suddenly decided he wanted to ride off into the sunset right about now.
  18. Ehhh idk about that. It took him 5 years to get a good team. If we're judging coaches based on one great tourney run then Archie or Crean must also be great coaches. Contrast that with a coach like Chris Beard who won immediately as soon as he got to every single program he's been too.
  19. Alabama seems like one of those teams destined to have the head coach leave for the NBA right before they get put on sanctions.
  20. You just hate to see it.
  21. So what do you think is most likely to happen: A: Woodson coaches out his contract and they look for the next coach after that. B: May or Lewis ends up being the real deal next year and IU thanks Woodson for his services and he retires so they can hire one of those guys.
  22. Are we really at the point of looking towards the next coach? Is Woodson already looking to step away?
  23. Math checks out. A win would make it go from 3 to 4.
  24. Good thing nobody was comparing Oklahoma and Indiana football then.
  25. Multiple top 10 years before it all gets wiped away with sanctions incoming for Colorado.
