  2. I don’t even know what people are arguing about anymore. We all know that sports aren’t the priority at IU like it is at some schools. You can blame glass, you can blame mcrobbie or both but we don’t and some are ok with that and some aren’t. Under these two the basketball program has sucked and football program has sucked. Not much argument to the contrary. One can argue that both are trending up but again, that is still tbd and all we know is history and glass and mcrobbie have been wildly unsuccessful with these two programs. It is crazy to ignore their history here and that alone is enough to be skeptical that this all works out well for us in the end. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  7. I was pleasantly surprised to see IU compete and make it a game. The hard pill to swallow was that they tried to give us this win and we refused to take it. Glass/Allen obviously are not on the field but this was dumb football from the moment we took over possession with a little under 4 minutes remaining. We kept chucking the ball downfield like there was under a minute to go. I said to my wife “we’re either going to turn it over on downs in under 30 seconds or score a touchdown and leave MSU a lifetime to score the game winner. Either way we were going to give them the ball back... It turned out to be the later, leaving 2 minutes for them to get a field goal... why? That was one of the worst clock managed possessions I’ve ever seen. Beyond that, when you get the touchdown, why not go for the win on the road? Playing it safe on the road against a ranked team...? Then, after giving them the ball back with 2 minutes to go, we sit back and let them pick us a part in two plays and instead of allowing them to score, we tackle them on the 1 to guarantee the loss. 3 minutes of dumb coaching and dumb playing is what we are and I guess I should just be happy that we were even in the game that late. 9. That would be a very creative and effective recruiting tactic. It would be hard to say no Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  10. Don’t like the idea of going all in but like the idea of pursuing 2-4 guys. The only reason we should pursue a a one and done is if he is in our back yard and if he can push us over the edge and make us a final four contender Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. Better not lose out to Crean! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. It would be refreshing to watch a team no matter what win or go down swinging vs these teams we’ve had over the last 4 years Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. I recognize you aren’t responding to me here but... Hey, I’ve grown to love your posts and perspective but don’t get this stuff at all. You identified Crean for what he was early on, earlier than most and at his best was a sweet 16 coach. In 9 years, that was his ceiling. Many years after it was obvious to almost everyone he was not the right guy he was fired. The most important part is that he left the program not in a sweet 16 ceiling but in “A SERIOUS REBUIlLD”. That is insane and 100% on Glass. It should never have come to that but he waited and allowed for it to dip to that level again. A “SERIOUS REBUIlLD” is not acceptable. He didn’t inherit that mess, the NAACP cannot be blamed for that, nobody but the one person responsible for the health of IU Basketball can be blamed but Fred Glass. That’s on him. He let that crap happen after 9 years to stoop back to that level again on his watch. Football and his lack of even looking at other options is a whole other can of turds Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. No way for me to know, that’s what a coaching search and many interviews is for. Coaching vacancies are a tough time but also a good thing from time to time to get test the waters and shake some things up. I hear you regarding the divisional alignment, I just don’t think it’s as big of a deal as you do. No coach we hire is going to be expected to come in and go 11-1 and win the BigTen right away but we need to compete with those schools. I don’t think it is unreasonable to expect a bowl every year and have occasional years where we challenge the big 3 for the conference. If you consistently hover around the 7-5 mark each year and you have a seasoned team every 3 or 4 years go up against a young, perhaps down team from the big 3 we should be able to pull off wins here and there. No reason to ever go 0-24 against OSU and no reason to get beat 51-10. We can do better and Glass didn’t even turn over any stones to try Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  16. A lot of cheap work was done in these renovations. If the goal was to renovate for the sake of checking a box these were successful. If the goal was to build state of the art facilities that set the bar and were built to last, we failed miserably. Drop ceilings have become the not so funny running joke for some but the list is endless when looking at things that were put into these or in some cases not put in that is disappointing Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. It really is. We’ve cheaped out in just about everything we’ve done sans the basketball recruiting budget. If leadership had the same attention to detail and desire to win as the fans we would be in a lot better place. Slapping lipstick on a pig apparently is enough to appease some here Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. That’s almost verbatim what Kentucky fans have said in the past about calipari. It’s laughable, clearly they will go to LSU or anywhere that will pay them. I have no doubt the vast majority of five stars from Kentucky and duke have been paid Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  21. Fair enough, I am/was including his first class that included keeping Creans recruits al, Justin and Moore and subconsciously omitted Fitzner from my brain 17’ 0-3, 18’ 1-5, 19’ 1-5, 20’ 0-3 2/17 recruits/scholarships available have gone to transfers/jucos since he has arrived - off the top of my head, could be off by 1 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  25. I have been vocal as saying I think one of Archie’s biggest misses has been the juco or grad transfer game. Zero jucos and 1 grad transfer so far in 4 recruiting classes. I’m not suggesting it to be the be all end all but there is a lot to be gained from having experienced players on the roster and a proven pg is huge. I would actually prefer him bringing in a juco or grad transfer vs a freshmen and then going all in on a landers or someone to replace Phinisee Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
