It’s not about talent, it’s about assembling the right pieces to play together. Woody has always focused on getting talent vs the right pieces thus why we outkicked every BigTen team in terms of recruiting stars* and yet didn’t make the tourney. unpopular as it may be, Woody is doing it again. As good as Rice is, we are no better shooting the ball than we were before. Add Balo and here we go again. the formula is to have minimally 3 players on the court that can shoot and we are assembling another team full of people that can’t shoot. We’ve added two talented players and neither make us a better shooting team

Highly unlikely and yes, when you are known for drinking wine, smoking cigars, playing golf when you should be working and you have barely enough players on roster to not forfeit, it might be a good idea to avoid throwing gas on that fire… but seems he doesn’t care. I wasn’t the one you were debating here but want to share my perspective. is it criminal to play golf on a Sunday during a recruiting dead period… no, and for most that would be ok. BUT, when you have half a team for next year, no transfers secured and you are known, true or not to be lazy and more into golfing with your friends than working the job that pays you $4m+ than yes, you are a fool for even allowing that perspective of you to be perpetuated. recruiting dead period just means no contact, he could be showering hours of film and researching players etc during this time
