I really hate getting new clothes, especially pants, that have this thread that sticks out and you pull it and it keeps coming and then it can snag or is attached to a part that doesn't seem to have any use so you pull and pull and then you notice that maybe a pocket is coming unravelled or maybe it is along an seam on your new blue jeans and then the seam sticks out and then you can't fix it or don't want the item anymore or if it is the right blue jeans and maybe it will be ok but it isn't...what? Rant thread? Oh, I thought this was about pant thread...

If IU gets a few calls, if IU hits 5 3s out of 11, if Cupps get a double double, if Xavier does the Moonwalk, if Hunter is steady, if Galloway didn't get a haircut, if our inside game excells, if Coach Woody doesn't do the platoon subbing... then it just may be something to build on. Well, I don't want to oversell it.

If we had RMK at IU today, he would be saying to recruits: "I don't care what your name is, son, but can you create and make shots?" Proving once again that RMK was extremely flexible and an innovator. Each and every season, IU should be on an upward trend. Last year, 4 starters left for the pros or whatever. This year we should have 5 starters leave the program. Last year at this time of the year we had lost to Rutgers. This year at this point we have not lost to Rutgers. IU continues to need a shot doctor. Found the right one! And we keep hearing that IU needs to take better advantage of the porthole. No kidding! https://www.tiktok.com/@thecloneguyy/video/7305954611817418026?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc We really do need to recruit socal. Being ex-Navy, I can attest that submariners do it deeper.

Please give me a good reason to change my prediction from a 20 point loss to a 3 point win. One that makes sense from a perspective of matchups, coaching style etc. Not one because you want to better me in the Prediction Thread... Is X playing or suited up? Is IU going defend well against the quick passes and assists of Kansas' offense? Is IU going to be successful with our bread and butter..going inside? Is Gabe Cupps going to be able to hold his own against seasoned PGs? Is IU going to get to the line often seeing as how that would not be typical for Kansas? Rebounding and turnovers and well...

So when Hunter Dickinson holds Ware and is not whistled for the foul...and when Hunter Dickinson climbs on Ware and is not whistled for a foul...and Coach Woodson does not go toe to toe with the refs in order to stop that stuff from happening...and then Ware gets whistled for being elbowed in the face and starts backing down. IU then stops scoring in the paint...and Coach Woodson substitutes in 4 players except for Galloway who is not scoring and leaves them in for 8 minutes...and IU gets behind by 12 in the first half...and my wife says things that she shouldn't... I have a question about in-game coaching...wait...I'm thinking that I had one...ah...never mind. I am not worried that LCS is going to be correct...not worried...at all. Assembly Hall magic? Yeah, that's the ticket. I am usually a cup is half full person. But...

Say it isn't so, Bruce. USA Today Claims Auburn Basketball Used Video Cameras to Spy on Opponent Practices - Sports Illustrated Auburn Tigers News, Analysis and More Shocked, not shocked. Sad. We should use this excuse for 2023. I mean, how would Auburn have any idea that Ware backs away when clobbered and refs swallow their whistle? And how the heck would Auburn know that Xavier was hurt and a freshman guard was going to start? Furthermore, one cannot believe that a crystal ball was used to predict that IU only went inside. And lo and behold, one must just believe that Auburn got lucky that IU would not defend the 3. They had to be peeking at our practices in order to divine our intentions. That or someone gave them our playbook. Sheesh... Most rational persons would likely perceive that this is a parody. But, then again, most rational persons do not read self-flagellating threads one week after being hammered. Speaking of getting hammered...where did I put that shaker of salt?

Can they shoot that rock? Too much dribbling is not good. They probably can outrun the Tigers. Has IU extended an offer to these guys yet? They might just go for our Nike gear...What?

George McGinnis (1950-2023)
Dave from Dayton replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It is not publicly reported that George McGinnis has passed away at age of 73 on Monday, December 11, 2023. He had called in to 911 on Saturday and was placed on life support for three days. George McGinnis Death: American Former Professional Basketball Player Died At 73 (uptospeedjournalism.com) I have seen sketchy reports, but nothing has come out formally from the next of kin. So, until otherwise informed by the next of kin or the appropriate official, this should be considered unconfirmed. -
George McGinnis (1950-2023)
Dave from Dayton replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I remember big George at IU playing in with Joby Wright and Steve Downing. In the 1970–71 season at Indiana, McGinnis became the first sophomore to lead the Big Ten in scoring and rebounding. He averaged 29.9 points per game in his lone season in Bloomington earning All-American and All-Big Ten Honors in 1971. He played for coach Lou Watson, the year before IU hired Bob Knight. That front line was un-freakin'-believeable!
