Dan Dakich will say anything to get attention. That is his job. And when he comments on losses...he certainly knows a lot about getting those when he coached. Ignore him and he will go poof.

Ken saw owls 13 Who's your bison? 41 On Saturday, Kennesaw St. almost nailed ACC conference Wake Forest 10 - 9 on the road. Missed a FG and a PAK. First game with a new coach Jerry Mack. KSU is in their 2nd year in the FBS with both better offense and better defense. They only won 2 games last year. The Owls had more enthusiasm than Wake Forest. They will be much more competitive this season.

What radio station would you recommend to listen to the game...while I am attending a...cough, cough, wedding. Why do mothers-in-laws schedule weddings during college football games? I remember my sister and mom scheduling my sister's wedding during an IU basketball game back in '77. Most of the guys and many women were in the bar watching the game during the reception. Go IU! Catholic high mass wedding. Might think about listening to the game on my hearing aids. Praise be. Hope to not yell "Yeah!" at the wrong time.

YouTube TV & Fox reach deal
Dave from Dayton replied to eddy4iu's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Which reminds me, if anyone has updates or news of other subscription deals please post. I'm interested, obviously, in IUsports. Such as whether to cancel Peacock and or others, then subscribe with spouse's name. Or whether there will be a deal and when. Thanks. -
Any sense of how much more of a challenge the next two games against Mega will be? Thanks for the updates and comments. Much appreciated. Still do not know what to expect during the regular season. Except it seems we have a coach that knows how to coach college bball. The assists are encouraging to say the least.

Visited Puerto Rico when in the Navy in 1974. And then again in my honeymoon with my Indiana sweetheart in 1977. Stayed in Old San Juan's gold coast. Will visit again on our 50th with family. Recommend learning about sugar plantations and slavery in the Carribean and how it is still messing with those islands. Also, supporting IU athletics to the extreme. Go IU!....

Oh...no way, Jose. No way I'm going to suffer getting caught...again.

I guess that I'm surprised that anyone would actually believe that a new recruit might actually be measured to be as tall as some say before arriving on campus. Tall, yes. Can do lots for his level of opponents, most probably. Those are highlights. 6'11" and possibly work into the mix during B1G play? How would we even tell. Looks pretty slender to me. He is going to get really banged up underneath.

I don't know about any of that. What I do know is that Old Fart and you are really pulling for IU to succeed in athletics. For that we fans and readers and posters on this site thank you. (And thanks for pumping sunshine. Pumping that other 54!+ gets really sucky quickly.) We are fans not critics in the summer. You do help us look forward to Hoosier HYSTERIA! I'm generally optimistic. But I get in the doldrums sometimes. And IU basketball really has been off of it's feed more often than not in the last 25 years. Can't help but feeling puny about that. A new coach hire and new roster is a great thing to be optimistic about. Reinventing oneself is sometimes a really good option. Reality may just bite us again. But this is the time for hype leavened by some sense of just how things seem to go when meeting an opponent on the basketball court knowing that they also have a roster of youngsters and veterans that really have put a lot into their skills and the game. A sense of perspective is always a good idea.

Just searched online for the game with no success. Has anyone reached out to IU? If the game is not being broadcast publicly, the athletic department may be able to provide information on how to watch, even if it's only available to a select group or through a paid service. I'm curious about another thing too. When was the last preseason or regular schedule game played in Puerto Rico?

Bourbon, Scotch, Irish Whiskey and Such
Dave from Dayton replied to Stuhoo's topic in Off Topic Forum
Recently read a review of Coppercraft Bourbon 9 year. Just got back from a short vacay at Pokagon State Park north of Angola IN where the better half and I hit 6 on James, and their immense selection of bourbons and whiskeys. Talked to the owner and got three choices of Coppercraft in front of me. One rye, two small-batch bourbons with no age called out. Sipped for an hour on one shot of 48.5% small-batch bourbon from Coppercraft. It was a black label that said small batch and straight bourbon whiskey. The second label that I did not try was a light off-white label with 50% which said blend of straight bourbons. On the nose it had at first what I thought was cinnamon and spices. But after a while, my wife reminded me of a spiced rum from Toppers of St. Martin. It definitely had vanilla, almonds and what may be a fruit or mint. Really was a hot taste at first. Refrained from ice or branch. The aromas were great and lingered for an hour in the Glen-Cairn glass. The taste of this sipping small batch bourbon was smooth, some vanilla, almond, and carmelcorn with hardly any oak. What is really special is that all of the above referenced whiskies are priced under $40 for 0.75 L. Really, really special. I got my shot for $13. Is he back? Yes he is.

I heard that Coach Allen was asked by the AD if he had any recommendations for IU athletics on his departure. All Allen said was: "Bye son." I heard that from Cow Patty. She was only a horseman's daughter. But all the '"cowmen knew 'er'. -

While I am excited for this football team and Coach Cig, I just can't get excited about a mascot for Indiana University being a bison. It is a different situation than the last time they trotted a bison out onto the football field...I realize. I'm holding my breath about a bison going across a basketball court. Coach DeVries and the basketball team may need some help getting over that 'hump'. -

It may be a symptom of what is wrong with our way of government, presently. As sentient beings, we are blessed to be able to choose. But we must live with the result of those choices. Some people seem to not want to make difficult decisions that require in-depth understanding of issues and critical thinking. And then we all complain about results or lack thereof. Citizens in this democratic republic have all but abdicated their responsibility to provide oversite to the very politicians that are now making those decisions. We have allowed lobbyists, businesses, the concentration of capital, investments and entertainers to take control. The minority of billionaires are making those difficult decisions and gaslighting us all. Lack of education and empathy and social responsibility just about covers it.
