  1. NWern 67 Indiana Hoosiers 76 How is Race? How is TJD? How is XJ? How is Indiana going to beat a zone? Get the ball across halfcourt quickly, how? How is Indiana going to improve on defense in the second half? I don't blame the players. Well, maybe on free throws. Oh, and definitely on defense and turnovers... And we have to win in spite of the refs. But the coaching definitely needs to improve.
  2. The new Indiana! Race inside, hitting and battling! TJD fighting and finishing! Shafino hitting from out, twice! OMG!!! Bourbon time!
  3. They will shaft the Laffy town clowns and duh nuts are toast. FS1 will show IU game in it's entirety.
  4. Indiana 84 IoWay 77 Other than slow starts, lack of defensive intensity at times, finishing shots, rebounding, toughness, and a PG, and an inside game at times we are really a decent team. So very close. Will Tamar make some magic? Is TJD hundo P? Will anyone rebound? Watsamatta w/Race? Will Kopp be the only scorer in double digits...just bury me face down...after gifting my organs to anyone except PU fans.
  5. Phelps Darby, Ernest Strange, Jay Fitzgerald, Alvah Rucker, Charles Unnewehr, and/or these others: Indiana University Basketball Encyclopedia - Jason Hiner - Google Books Scroll one page down for the picture and caption. I looked in the first 30 or so years of Indiana University basketball and nowhere did it say anything about scholarship players. A great read about the beginnings of IU and B1G basketball. Just think of the times, trials, travels, wars, teaching a new game...
  6. I have a bet with my better half. We had better win.
  7. Just wait until next year! Oh... Nevermind.
  8. Oh you people are so negative. Watch Duncomb and Leal have breakout halves! You heard it first here. trust me
  9. IU is not in trouble. KSU will wilt. Because IU's defense will step up.
  10. Kennesaw State is known for hitting a high percentage of 3-pointers. They also are decent rebounders. They are not tall...6'5" or less except for a 2nd stringer. Supposedly, not a great defensive team. Stop their 3's, rebound, take care of the ball, score inside. Win the darn game, IU!
  11. Fire in the fireplace, bourbon and wine, gear on...let's go Indiana!
  12. First time evah...score change: KSU 62 Indiana 80 I'd like to thank the academy for this award...
  13. Indiana is one NC Championship banner away from being elite again. When IU's team and coaches win multiple tough games in a row and give a constant refuse to lose attitude, then IU might be considered among the elite. When IU shows an offense that can consistently beat other teams showing varying defenses like zones and rebounding edge, then IU might be considered among the elite. It would really be nice to have a couple of ball handlers that could play PG at an elite level. I could go on...about shooting, defense, taking advantage of matchups, high basketball IQs....
  14. Seems that you are more accurate than me on this point. Might just be the lack of leadership on the team. We may need upperclassmen that refuse to lose and get in the faces of players. I recently read the RMK statement that went somewhat like this: You aren't here at Indiana to play basketball. You are here to win.
  15. Set the Waybac Machine to 1976 and 1977. That team had players on it that refused to lose.
  16. A couple of thoughts about this season. It is sure a good thing for the season-long improvements of the team to have great competition early rather than a surprise in the B1G conference games. Secondly, it is not surprising that many get caught up in the hype of the early opinions that are not grounded in reality. Finally, many of us realized that shooting from the three-point line, free throw percentages, lack of toughness on the road, excitable and questionable PG play, and inside one-dimensional play might just be an impediment to learning how to win tough games. The wish is to improve throughout the season. And they likely will. I will continue to predict that IU wins most games even if they are predicted by others to not win. It is not that I am blinded or see through rose-colored glasses. It is because "It's Indiana"! And I think that it is more fun to be pro IU than like some others that post on here only when things get tough. I will not gloss over the negatives. I just won't dwell on them. I enjoy the game and am glad that Coach Woodsen is here. Maybe, in the KS game, KS got lucky early and our guys got demoralized and didn't close on some shots. That would take the wind out of my sails. The rest was a slog uphill. I was hoping early on that IU would win 2 of the four. They did. Have a great holiday season with you and yours. Remember to help those less fortunate.
