I’ve been an IU basketball fan for 38 years, so I remember the good years. If I’m a 17-18 year old high school star or player in the transfer portal being recruited by IU, why would I even be interested? With what I see on the court, I’m not even interested enough to watch anymore.

I’m taking my dad to the Kennesaw State game Friday. It’ll be the first time he’s ever watched IU in person. Anyone have any restaurant recommendations to make this trip even more special?

Woodson has the right to fire whoever he wants. He is the head coach. I just don’t understand all the hate that Fife is getting now that he’s fired.

If everything that is being said is true, it really seems like he must have been miserable here. Why else would he repeatedly bite the hand that feeds him?

This thread reminds me a lot of our recruiting threads. Now that Fife is no longer a part of our program, he’s a bum. He couldn’t recruit, he was insubordinate, he said some other schools student section was better, he was political, etc…. Before he came here, he (for a lot of posters) was the next great thing. I feel sorry for his girls. They got uprooted from the only place they had called home to come here for a year.

I remember starting to watch IU basketball when I was 11. When I was 12 in ‘87 they won it all. I’ll never forget my mom jumping up and down on our coffee table. I rarely missed a game until I went to college. Because of some bad advice from my high school guidance counselor I couldn’t get into IU despite being recruited heavily by Coach Morgan to play baseball. After that, my fandom kinda wavered. I still rooted for IU, but playing in Illinois and Georgia in the mid 90’s I didn’t get to watch them much. After watching Zeller play in high school my interest in IU basketball started to grow again. For several years I was hooked. Now after the last 5 or so years I catch the games when I can, but I don’t lose any sleep if I miss one. I still keep up with everything IU basketball on here and on my score app, but I’m just not as passionate as I once was. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
