  1. Matlock was an old Sunday who done it show old people loved.
  2. Not talking about Leal. Rather anyone who could start and be a big tyne contributor. When they sit back 20-30 years from now, the extra $50K-$100K isn't going to be remembered. What will be remembered is kicking some team's a$$ for a few years, winning a conference tourney, maybe a sweet 16 to final 4 run. Etc.
  3. Even with the pay differential, do kids really care these days? It's all about work-life balance these days. We have all had crappy jobs that overpaid us -- and we where still miserable. Basketball is supposed to be fun. I'd go where the fun is, even though it may mean a "pay cut."
  4. Think I posted in the other thread -- so far performance is underwhelming.
  5. The more "misinformation" the better.
  6. Hey, if it's on the internet then it must be true. :)
  7. Thanks Tim McCarver. :) Of course we can only go by publicly stated information. Point still is, performance to date is underwhelming.
  8. The dudes portal tracker linked above.
  9. I’ll just say this, if the reporting is true and we have about 12-15 candidates and only one visit — the current portal performance is underwhelming.
  10. Was Patrick Ewing a **** or just a bad coach?
  11. One of the things Pearl talks about is not burning bridges with recruits, as he has taken several in as transfers that initially went somewhere else. Same would go for players in my book.
  12. Are you saying the staff didn't give Leal the green light to shoot? SMDH.
  13. But that is what happens when you destroy your legacy.
  14. But that's what happens when you make all about yourself and less about the program. Look for example at Mike Ditka. He was a Chicago Bears legend. Came in as head coach, turned the program around, won a super bowl, and then massively under performed from there. As the players and league passed him by, he was borderline nuts. Eventually was fired. Fans where critical of him during the lean years, but he's still a Chicago legend because he didn't make it all about himself.
  15. It’s every man for himself.
  16. They just showed a stat — they are like 4-1 right now. With Pac and ACC for the best three conferences in the tournament.
  17. Better than zero runs in the tournament, which is what we have now.
  18. Good basketball players don’t necessarily make good coaches or good program managers. These guys are destroying their legacy by sticking around too long.
  19. Since we may be a year or two away, I’m going to throw this name in to the fire from the kid. He’s a Kelley so maybe he’s smart? Worth a watch. Kim English, Providence.
  20. Give him as much time as he needs.
  21. I would strongly consider it -- worth a sit down. He'd need to check the "adaptability" boxes for me. But given what he has done at NW is pretty interesting -- things they have NEVER done, EVER. Don't under estimate the roster restrictions he's under, plus now the transfer issues. He would have neither at IU. Sure he doesn't have the track record of a Pearl. He's kind of the in between of the mid-major flavor of the year and the zero risk successful P5 coach (who I don't think we can get). I am not sure he would leave though -- it's home and they are treating him well.
  22. A little disappointed. But they are hanging around, not getting blown out, yet.
  23. One shining moment baby
  24. Yeah. A little self evaluation and he could have been here for 30 years.
