    You're not getting national recruits if you can't get in-state and regional recruits. Your right -- you're need to work from near to far. Be in play for the best 5 players in IN, the best 10 players in the midwest, and then supplement with guys you target from far away lands.

    Expectations have nothing to do with what I said. Cig's model is 1000% comparable. Put the right processes in place, create the right culture, and winning takes care of itself. That's what most people miss -- Winning is a byproduct of the process.

    Actually, 87 is the model for today. A great foundation with Alford, et. al. Then add two difference makers -- Smart and Garret.

    The fundamental problem with that analysis, we have not had a coach who has been willing to grow. And that is a major downfall of every coach out there. Their egos get the best of them. They don't adapt, grow, change. For example, it was clear that Crean Team's weaknesses were defense. Did he ever learn and change? Nope and he's gone. It's that simple.

    I think that is an important observation. I was disappointed with Crean's 3rd year -- I wanted incremental improvement and it was flat. But you could see he was building something. And then he went on that little run for several years. Fans didn't act up until that run faded and he had difficulty getting any consistency. You could see things falling apart and it was time to move on.

    I make no comment regarding Beard or Wade. I just wouldn't disqualify someone who violated some BS NCAA rule 10 years ago that no longer exists. They would still have to fit the university, have a winning basketball record, etc.

    I'll just say this. Any coach who has been accused/guilty of breaking NCAA rules (especially under the table payments) should now get a pass for that transgression -- as there are no longer any NCAA rules. Other legal and/or women issues, not so much -- don't need the headaches.

    I would give him the benefit of the doubt IF he only once made an adjustment or adaptation in the past 3.5 years. Doing the same thing and entering the gauntlet we are about to enter is the definition of insanity. The guy is just a mumbling, stumbling, idiot at this point.

    I am looking for a coach, not a friend. :) But I am neutral on Fife. I just want dudes who can coach.

    Another site has their video analysis of the play. Wash is the one telling Woodson to sub. It's a cluster farque of epic proportions.

    So our $4 million coach went crying to the AD about the fans booing? What are we 8 now? I call BS. A big pile of BS. If he has received death threats, that is a police matter. Trace the threats and arrest the SOBs.
