Work our tails off on the defensive end and defensive glass. Minimize 2nd chance points and fight for 50/50 balls. Get out running every possible chance and convert. Have TJD and JHS do their thing. Get contributions from Trey and Tamar for a nice bounce back, and have Kopp sprinkle in three 3s.

Need to stick it to them to the point where they question their season and put tails between their legs. Fast start and punishing effort the entire game. Defend like their lives depend on it and we roll like against the Illini.

Anyone else keep tabs on Christopher Gunn’s (CJ’s father) account on Twitter? Reading the tea leaves, I get the impression CJ is transferring out. For instance, after the win against Purdue this interaction with a fan occurred: Fan: Glad y’all are on our side! Christopher: Take no moment for granted. Another instance: Fan: Huge part to come glad he wears cream and crimson Christopher: I’m just glad we got to experience once. ———————— He’s said other things in the past about not giving his boy more time in game to get the feel/get comfortable. CJ’s got great potential, so it would be sad to see him go. I can understand his father’s frustration and CJ’s too. That said, he has not yet put the ball in the hoop effectively this year when he has been put in, and this team has older, more experienced and reliable options. I hope I’m wrong because his game and potential excites me. What do you guys think? Has anyone heard anything?

Your guess is as good as mine. I’d like to see him come back, personally. The player I feel most for is Phinisee since he never could put it together for extended stretches and didn’t partake in Senior Night. Playing time likely isn’t there next year if X stays with JHS coming… It’s shaping up to be an interesting offseason.

Like others pointed out, Bates’ mom had a tweet after the game that makes it sound like he’ll be back next year. That sure would be good news for the program, and I want nothing more than that rumor I shared to be just that…a rumor. Assuming Bates does come back, I still am curious to see how the rest of the roster pans out. Does TJD declare or come back? Does CMW ask a few players to go? There’s no denying there’s a lot of question marks right now, and the roster could look a lot different next year. No matter what happens, please for the love of all things Indiana basketball get some *real* LETHAL shooters.

Everything you said is factual. I want to believe Bates stays, but it would not surprise me if he did leave since he hardly got any run towards the end of the season when Stewart/Kopp struggled badly

If it's true, it's going to p-ss off a lot of IU fans because it could have been avoided had he been given PT over Stewart/Kopp. Once again, hope it's not true, but it would really, really sting if it does indeed happen

Rumor: Bates is gone. I was told this at the Michigan BTT game by an IU senior whose friend works with Rabby. His parents are very unhappy. Hopefully this doesn't happen because I want him back on this team next year
