Why did they wait so long to do her surgery? Wasn't it known she needed it at the beginning of the season? -

2-0 in the Big Ten...funny how you didn't post anything after his win at Wisconsin. -

Woodson is making Mike Davis look highly competent and multi-faceted with some of these mistakes. -

Has anyone else reached the point where they're only checking this board to: 1) Look for new posts about other IU sports 2) See if Woodson has been fired/quit/spontaneously combusted? Or some other juicy rumor that could potentially lead to his removal? #2 would suck a lot less if it was March, or at least late February. -

Since 2020, there have only been six teams who finished 5-15 or worse in the Big Ten: Nebraska twice, Minnesota twice, Michigan last year and OSU the year before. We will probably out-talent at least 4 or 5 more teams and catch some people on off nights. Torvik has been less optimistic about this team since before the season so 9-11 is probably closer to where we'll end up. -

I think the decision will be made (if it hasn't already) well before March. When you lose the fanbase like Woodson has, you don't get it back. His age and lack of recruiting aren't helping him, either. -

I feel like the boosters giving Woodson this money was a last-ditch effort by Buckner to give him a chance. Woodson has lost more games each season he's been here than Buckner lost in his entire career as a player. There's no way Buckner can think the results we've seen lately are acceptable. Of course, if he does, then my theory about him wanting to kill off the fanbase might be accurate. -

Pretty sure that's how it went down with Davis. We were in a late-season death spiral, on the verge of missing the tournament for a third straight year (unfathomable at the time, but hardly surprising present day). After the announcement, we rattled off 5 straight wins and actually had a decent finish. -

The ultimate excuse for any failing coach is to blame the environment they work in. We have money, we have fan support, we have the brand, we have the facilities. If a coach can't win here, it's because he just isn't good enough. -
UK's administration and desire to be the best in the sport has been putting us to shame for a long time now. I think back to when they dumped Billy Gillispie after just two seasons. That was all they needed to see to realize he was a dud and they needed someone better. So with our fanbase in awe over such a rash move, and wondering who they could possibly get to come there after giving up on a coach so quickly, all they did was bring in the best recruiter in the modern era, and within 3 years they got a banner. No point in arguing over what if's, but I can just about guarantee if Gillispie had been here with the exact same results, he would have gotten at least two more years to under-perform while competitors started lapping us. Then, when the time came to replace him, no chance we'd hire somebody like John Calipari. The idea of having a coach who had multiple Final Fours vacated was just too much for the lily-white purists who only wanted kids who graduated and went to class for 4 years. So they out-recruit everyone, go to multiple Final Fours and compete for trophies every year while we do...whatever we've been trying to do for the past two decades. Fast forward to the present day...they punt the national-title winning, elite recruiter because he was past his prime, found a replacement, and they're still a top 5 team. We gave Mike Woodson another year because we were afraid of what people would think of us for canning him. Not hard to see why UK has been so much more successful than us.

Second time this season they've been down 40+. I wonder if they're having second thoughts about Diebler.

75-37 lol. Auburn got 100 on us last year...I bet they'd get 110-115 if we played them right now.

Indiana has a ridiculously uncanny ability to attract NBA hopefuls who either don't actually play like NBA players, or they do and the team still sucks. -

Sometimes I wonder if their plan all along was to try and get the diehard fans to finally just call it quits. They're tired of people complaining and holding them accountable, and this was their solution to just make those fans go away for good. We're seeing the impact with more and more empty seats appearing at home games. Apathy is reaching all time highs. Maybe they want the older crowd to just disappear and be replaced by younger fans whose only memories of IU basketball are hoping like hell to make the tournament. Then they'll have an easier, more relaxing job of IU being a nobody in men's basketball but still getting to brag about the banners. (Ok, taking off the tin foil hat now) -

Get ready to hear "it's hard to win on the road in the Big Ten" on loop. It's the vial of lifeblood for this coaching staff. They'll milk it for all it's worth. A perfect built-in excuse for every road game. -

I think you guys are misinterpreting those posts. They're saying a loss could send the team into a spiral it doesn't recover from (like last year's early January loss at Nebraska), and it would make it nearly impossible to get any enjoyment out of the remaining December games. A win would be more of a relief than cause for celebration, similar to each game we've played since Thanksgiving. -
I wish we could get UK back on the schedule and always have it as the season opener.
