One of the flaws of NET rankings: PSU was #56 when we played them yesterday. Because we won by 15, they dropped all the way to 77, turning it into a Quad 2 road win.

I remember him being pretty good in home games for us. Guy was a double zeroes machine in road games.

Honestly curious: what needs to happen for Buckner to leave? Will we know by a certain date if he is or isn't running for another term? How does that work, is he elected to his position or appointed?

We've won 8 in a row over the Gophers. Since we rarely win more than 2 or 3 in a row against anybody in our conference these days, I felt compelled to research this series history a bit more. We haven't lost at home to Minnesota since 2012. We're 37-6 against them in Assembly Hall. So if Woodson manages to lose to these guys, we'll have some nice big logs to throw on the fire.

Of all the bullet points that were on this list, this one is perhaps the biggest indictment against Mike Woodson. How can you call yourself a head coach when even your own assistants don't listen to you? Think back to the UNC-Greensboro game when, with about 5 minutes left, Woodson called timeout for a baseline out of bounds play. Mgbako took the inbounds pass and immediately shot an 18 foot fadeaway. Either Woodson drew up a lousy play, or he drew up something else and Mgbako said "screw it, I'm taking this (bad) shot." If nobody listens to or respects the head coach, why are we employing the guy?

We should win all three of these comfortably. We'll need to, because the January schedule is ridiculous. It's so much more fun to have a competent coaching staff that delivers when we start to doubt them.

Looking at their previous scores, looks like offense is pretty easy for them. Since we're on the road and offense is hard for us, I'm not seeing a win today. If we have multiple stretches of 4+ minutes without scoring we could get blown out.

Not bad for a team that also needed OT to beat Eastern Illinois.

There's coaching malpractice, and then there's being unranked with this roster and projected to miss the tournament. You almost have to do it on purpose to underperform this badly.

Illinois and Northwestern just played in football a week ago. Pretty creative scheduling, or maybe the Big Ten just randomly did it. Don't want to see it until Woodson's gone, but I wonder if we'll ever play Purdue in early December.

Didn't get to see the game, only saw the score periodically. I see we were up 12 early, the lead dwindled down to 3 at the half, was only five midway through the second half and then grew from there. Sounds like a typical Mike Woodson game against a team with inferior talent.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to seeing their Kenpom numbers tank when they were down 27, and they end up losing by just 11. Screw those turds.

I was going through the NET rankings to find our opponents so far. For the 3 games we lost, Harvard (36) is Quad 2, would become Quad 1 if they reach the top 30. UNC is Quad 1 and should stay there. Butler is 65 right now, so that's Quad 1 as well if they don't drop below 75. Baylor (25) is our best win right now. Columbia (47) is also just barely a Quad 1 win. Stanford (34) could become Quad 1 if they move up. Brown (223) and Maine (242) have been our only easy games so far. USI was 82 entering tonight. That becomes Quad 2 if they reach 75 or better. So it's possible that we've already beaten 4 NCAA tournament teams. It hasn't been pretty but our resumé isn't too shabby right now.

We'll probably win some games against teams better than this, but this is starting to feel like a lost season.

USI is 82 in the NET rankings, placing them ahead of Rutgers, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Purdue. I know Syd being out doesn't help, but I still can't believe how bad we are offensively.

Yeah, guys usually don't go from NBA coaching to college unless they get fired. College teams are looking for coaches right about when the NBA playoffs are starting. And in most cases, NBA coaches aren't going to leave for a college job because NBA coaches consider college basketball to be a step down.

Defense optional in the second half. And by optional I mean bad.

We hit a 3, then nobody gets back on defense and they get an easy and-1. Any coach who isn't in retirement mode would be going nuclear over that. Woodson just looks mildly annoyed, like it woke him up from a nap.

But I thought we sucked in the middle of the first half because that's when Woodson goes with the all bench lineup... I guess we've found ways to suck at all stages of games.

He'll probably make me eat my words by hitting a game winner or a big shot late in a game at some point, but I'm kind of ready for Galloway to move on.

I don't know, we kind of owned Louisville in the last 30 seconds.
