  1. Nothing like a double digit loss at home to a team that only played six and was missing two starters. And we have USC next...
  2. Meanwhile, we keep racking up offensive fouls...
  3. We don't really have a team that can play from behind. This was a lot like the Harvard game, but against a much stronger opponent.
  4. Cut it to 4 with a chance to get closer and in the blink of an eye we're down 10 again.
  5. We have to be leading the Big Ten in offensive fouls.
  6. They've finally cooled off a bit but we're making offense look hard again.
  7. Didn't know Peacock was airing a repeat of the men's game.
  8. What would it take to get Lilly Meister out of the starting lineup?
  9. That's a relief. She cut us to pieces the last two seasons. I think her career high came against us too.
  10. Yeah, it's almost like we hire the wrong coaches and that's why they all fail.
  11. Anybody who thinks we made the right choice by giving Woodson another year is either related to him, receiving money from him or smoking something illegal (or maybe some combination of the three?). The longer we keep him around, the worse it will get. More blowouts, more booing, more chants, possible off-court problems, social media meltdowns...our imaginations are the only limits here.
  12. It was clear after 2 years Archie had failed on both counts. So what did we accomplish by giving him 2 more years?
  13. Davis: 6 years Sampson: 2 years (not fired for results) Crean: 9 years Miller: 4 years Woodson: 4 years The issue is we not only hire bad coaches, we keep them around too long.
  14. Archie only got a fourth year because of the pandemic. He really didn't even deserve a third year. Lucky for him he happened to be at the one blue blood program that lets "optics" dictate their decision-making.
  15. I remember that Wisconsin game. Crean was ejected in the second half. He was only T'd up 3 times in the 9 years he was here; 2 of them were in that game.
  16. I'm not surprised a Northwestern grad would want Woodson to remain the coach here, considering Woodson has yet to beat them.
  17. How was he supposed to know Woodson would royally crap the bed like this? For all he knew, Woodson could have kept buying talent and managing to not suck until he turned 70. As a coach, you can only wait around on your dream job for so long, and sometimes, it just never materializes.
  18. I googled "benefits of firing coach midseason" and the following came up. Maybe this will help you understand: Firing a coach midseason can potentially benefit a team by injecting new energy, tactics, and a fresh perspective, which could lead to improved performance and a better chance at salvaging a struggling season, especially if the team is experiencing significant underperformance under the previous coach; however, this strategy can be risky and often comes with significant drawbacks like disruption to team chemistry and the potential for further decline if the new coach doesn't immediately click with the players. Potential benefits of firing a coach midseason: Spark a turnaround: A change in leadership can sometimes motivate players and create a sense of urgency to turn things around, especially if the team is underachieving. New strategies and tactics: A new coach may bring different offensive or defensive schemes that better suit the current roster and could exploit weaknesses in opponents. Accountability and pressure: Firing a coach can send a message to the players and the organization that poor performance will not be tolerated. Addressing internal issues: Sometimes, a coaching change can be necessary to address internal conflicts or a lack of player buy-in with the previous coach.
  19. The results really wouldn't be that important. With Woodson here, all we're doing is playing games anyway. Not really competing for anything. Like I said, ivory tower.
  20. KathwithaC is the textbook ivory tower fan who simply doesn't grasp the realities of what we're all seeing.
  21. You can talk about getting back on track without bringing the fans into it.
  22. No problem saying this out loud, I wish Goode had stayed at Illinois. I just can't even with these dudes and their "the fans are so mean" takes. What a baby.
  23. I'd be laughing my @$$ off if an opposing player ever said this. Spoken like a true college kid who's never had to face any real adversity in life. We so desperately need a different breed of player.
  24. I thought it was after Northwestern.
  25. Our last two home games with Illinois both came down to the final minute. We're probably the better team but I don't expect this to be easy.
