I've never understood why any punt/kick returner would try to fight for extra yards. You've got literally five or six dudes all trying to blow you up at the same time. Just down it!
At some point they'll bring up Crean and probably spend an entire possession talking about what a great job he's doing and how IU fans expect too much from him.
When we're only playing one of our biggest rivals once, it's kind of a big deal. This was a topic of considerable outrage a few years ago. Now, if it was someone like Northwestern or Penn State, your snarky reply would have made a better point.
Honestly, this doesn't really surprise me. Crean's teams have notoriously looked like crap right before Christmas. Probably the combination of studying for finals around 4 hour practices and Crean's incessant noise.
LOL they show a graphic saying that Crean wants to maximize offensive possessions while he takes a swig of Diet Coke, then we give up another layup. Classic.
Is that really what he's been saying? I think his point is that Knight at least had an area he focused on, and it worked out extremely well for him. Crean is all over the place. There's no structure in anything he does, and the results speak for themselves.
It's set up perfectly for him to fail. An average coach could go 13-5 or better with this schedule, which means he'll probably go 12-6 or 11-7. Then he'll probably talk about what a grind the league is and how hard it is to win every night, along with any other excuses he can find.
