The playoffs this year will be awful; this weekend was only the beginning. NFL is just bad football right now. New England is going to walk to the Super Bowl and probably win it to cap off one of the most boring NFL seasons anyone can remember in a long time.

Purdue has 10 turnovers in 15 minutes and somehow they're up by 8. Three offensive fouls on Wisconsin already. Home cooking in Mackey is nuts this year.

College basketball has been "down" for quite some time. One and dones have ruined it. Transfers have ruined it. NBA-style offenses have ruined it. I think changing the shot clock to 30 seconds has actually helped, as games seem a bit faster and scoring seems to have gone up a bit. But the NBA just has way too much influence. Players want to get there even if they have no shot, and NBA teams want these kids about 2-3 years earlier than they should be getting them because NBA people all believe they can find the next Lebron/Kobe/Garnett.

They just need to play faster.

I'm looking for updates that he found his way back to Indy. Seriously, I think this means his mind isn't made up, and the reports published Friday morning were from Pagano's camp.

Irsay was in Houston tonight.

Crowd and Crean need to get into these refs a little more. Home teams in this league never get called for as many touch fouls as we've had today. -
I really think Irsay's brain has been so severely addled by painkillers/prescription meds that he's completely incapable of realizing Andrew Luck and a horrible division are the only things that kept this team from the 5 or 6 win season it really deserved. Irsay likes Pagano and Grigson because both of them are yes-men and they don't make him feel inferior. Polian was very good at his job, very intelligent, and also quite arrogant. I'm sure he made Irsay feel like a dope many times. Pagano and Grigson are both in way over their heads in their current positions, and Irsay is fine with it because it allows him to step in and play armchair coach/GM again. I used to be fine with Irsay as an owner…but those days are long over. Along with our days as being one of the better-run organizations in this league. I read that Manning was interested in part-ownership of the team, but Irsay didn't want to give it up, which just makes me despise him even more.

Weren't we recruiting Trevor Thompson in the spring a few years ago? I think we were on his list, and he said he was going to visit every school on his list before deciding, then he went to OSU and committed on the spot.
-
Gelon I could see, but please not Priller. His senior night speech and the crowd reaction would probably be epic.
-
We're also 2 years closer to the end of Crean's contract than we were then. That matters.
-
I haven't checked with that source since before the Nebraska game. I just think our season will end in rather boring fashion, and being forced to extend or fire, Glass will choose the latter.
-
I have a feeling this is Crean's final year.
-
*You're. Also, Glass should be capitalized.
-
Damn, even with people doing the work for them, their grades still suck. They might need to consider finding new test-takers.

I bet you haven't talked with the people I have. You're completely wrong. BTW, it's "should have" not "should of."

First game at The Hall....Suggestions?

Hope the outcome is better than my first IU game the other night. -
Forgot to post this last night: do you know what was the most impressive part of Minnesota's win over Purdue yesterday? They only had 7 turnovers. OT game and they turn it over just 7 times, in a hostile environment where officials have been too scared to call fouls on the home team. Memo to Crean: turnovers kill. It's so much easier to succeed if you aren't giving up the ball 15 times every game. I wish he'd figure this out, but I know he never will.
-
I doubt he'd be going over all this stuff and addressing the media if he was getting fired.
-
Hope you're right.
-
Um…isn't that what happened last year?
-
I can't argue that. I just get a little annoyed at how every significant win is downplayed somehow, as if feeling good about it means we don't expect enough.
-
Personally, I would brag about any win over UK, because I hate their guts. That was Calipari's sixth tournament team at UK, and we've been the only team to beat them on the first weekend. They should have been a 3 seed at worst. The committee dropped them to a 4 so they could pair them up with us in the second round. How many power-5 conference champions have ever had to face another power-5 champion on the first weekend? It was set up for us to fail, and we didn't. Were they as good as their previous two Final Four teams? Probably not, but let's not act like that was just an ordinary second round win against a team we should have expected to handle. Then again, I've been informed that if you beat a top 5 team on a neutral court when one of your freshmen scores 11 points in 44 minutes, it means that team didn't scout you well enough and beating another top 5 team at home means little in our case because apparently we're just too good there anymore. So whatever.

Swanigan now has four 20-20 games this season. The rest of Division 1 has three. How is this kid not a first rounder?
