(2017) LB Bryant Fitzgerald to IU
lucel15 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
My hometown boy doing work -
Their d line doesn't scare me. Linebackers show good blitz timing but GA states oline looks small (weight) and not very strong.
-
Thanks! Yeah it was dumb hit. Lowered head and dove in. But he was flying around on defense could be a big hit for ball state in the 4th. We will need to contain BSUs RBs good 1,2 punch. QB just ran for 44 yards nice option read

Ball state loses a DB for targeting. If I'm correct he misses a half? Or something like that
-
Ball states QB 2 INTs already

Now I'm not bashing anyone at all but I've seen this in this thread and several times over the past weeks people questioning reddings consistency. I think it's clear he Id consistent and is ready to carry the load. I think last night was his 4th straight 100 yard game. Not to mention his 227 yard game in the bowl, the ones before that were 140,130 and last night 135. I think he's up to the test and the RBU crew will help take that load off and we witnessed that last night. -

I mean it's the first game. Don't see long runs every game. But if I recall redding had like Id say 5-15 breaks last year. Against Duke, Rutgers, Maryland, purdue just to name a few. Redding can break open runs consistently. Longest last night was 19 so 1 yard shy. So to your argument. Redding is a break through to the second level. -
Here's the thread lol

IU 38 FIU 17 -
I like to be optimistic. I hate negativity and even tho I think we have better talent. I hate the negativity. Hate hate hate it. Yes we lost sudfeld. But I trust Wilson and what he has done and I don't think he would leave himself without a QB or two at his disposal. Especially after a nice extension. I believe in Lagow and Diamont and Cameron.

Bump. Crystal ball vote

I will explain wins. Vs FIU-W (Ron Turner... Nuff said) Vs Ball State- W (rebuilding big time) BYE Vs. Wake Forest- W (power 5, weak Power 5 team) Vs Mich. State- W (I really don't think MSU will be great. I don't trust their offense and am not afraid like the past couple years) At OSU- L Vs Nebraska- W (toss up. But I think we win. Remember PU beat them) At Northwestern- W (we hit stride and make a run) Vs Maryland- W (payback) At Rutgers- W (domination) Vs Penn State- W (Franklin can't coach QBs and we see Michigan gameday) At Michigan- L (close but no cigar) Vs Purdue- W (ground and pound) Very Optimistic. I would love to refine this after first three games just because I want to see Lagow before big ten slate but since some are doing this I will too! Very optimistic but I think Defense is improved. Top 50. Offense fires under big Lagow and our platoon of RBs gives everyone a headache. We end in top 25. We are a football school and get a top 30 recruiting class with swinging some 4*s.
-
Defense is very very young from what I saw in the projected lineup.
-
Finally my time to chime in. I don't believe our defense will be garbage. Will they be a top 25 defense no. But have a significant growth from last year.... Yes. Why... Because our dbs are deep, young athletic and most of all our young guys are experienced and played in tough games. Our LBs are deep. Where we are short is the line that was our biggest hit of the offseason. But I think Hoff, Robinson, green, and McCray given he is healthy/back by big ten is a great core down in the trenches they are strong. And I think barwick gets in and turns heads. We don't have 6'5 DTs that we had with latham. However we have Sykes who was a highly coveted boy who went to Notre dame and he has been making a name for himself. Now onto this diamont argument. Does he have a huge arm. No. Did he in HS yes. What happened idk. Mechanics. Loss of strength somehow. Who knows. However, he has maybe thrown 10 deep balls in his career. He has been thrown into situations in which I believe he wasn't ready for. So let's throw those possibilities into the discussion as well instead of just saying oh he's trash he can't really develop. Yes I wish he was bigger, yes I wish he had more of a touch on his balls. But from what I've seen his short route timing and precision is there. I can hear the argument coming (but you have to be able to throw the deep ball in wilsons offense) yes and no to that point. I believe if diamont is named starter or has to step in if Lagow doesn't workout... I think Wilson has a gameplan to ground and pound.... Short dumps to quick passes 15-25 yards, then let him work with his feet. I don't think Wilson had a vision that would lead us to where we are today and honestly boys over the past couple of years we are RBU. We have depth and some big boys back there. Now back to the QBs. I love the size of Lagow. I like Cameron and what he has shown especially when he threw some zingers and darts in the PSU game (next red rocket) lol. However to the ARE QB situation the arguments are a little blurry because remember boys we had a scrambler back in Mid 2000's who had the hoosiers on a hype train. That man was Kellen Lewis before he got into shenanigans. I also think it's unfair to compare the likes of ARE and Diamont at this level. Yes the kid is cocky, has the Hollywood flair, but he hasn't been given the best scenarios to prove it in my opinion. That's all. I needed to Finally say something. One last thing. I think the koolaid is actually just sitting in... And Tom Allen is the energy and by in that IU has been looking for. He believes there is change coming and the boys they are eating it up and getting takeaways. Not turnovers but takeaways this year. This is the calm before the storm and I think we will be shocked with how we look in the first game. I mean that in a good way. Luce is out.

(2017) OC Harry Crider to IU
lucel15 replied to lucel15's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Could be Harry Crider from Columbus East. OC. Committed to UVA -
We just had another boom from #812. No word on who
-
Only thing I have liked about Simmons is his size. He was one of the bigger LBs I have seen for IU in the last couple of yrs. however as time has gone on he has gotten slower and slower.
-
FWIW. Depth chart was released in Chicago and Simmons was #2 at a LB spot or whatever the hybrid name was.
