Believe both of those are true. ODU was a couple weird bounces from winning 8 or 9 last year and brought a bunch back. And VT sucks out loud.

Did you see the quality of that Tennessee loss? They’ll easily kick Illinois out of the top-10 regardless of how bad they beat WMU.

I understand/somewhat agree with not wanting to schedule FCS games, and this might be a homer take (both ways), but that ISU team isn’t awful by FCS standards. I’ve watched their first two games and they would beat the WIU team we slaughtered similarly in 2024 by 40 points. The FCS teams that most of the SEC schools will play in November will be miles worse than the ISU team we just destroyed too. Cig had the squad about as locked in last night as I’ve seen since he got here and if they come out like that next weekend they’ll handle Illinois.

I still can’t wrap my mind around IU not having a single nod to the 2024 team going to the CFP inside the stadium bowl. Am I crazy? It’s insane to not have that plastered everywhere you look during a game right? Edit: the equipment staff has the CFP logo on one of their sideline trunks. At least they’re doing their part.

Sticking this on Kirkwood basically screams "not a family event" to me...and I'm assuming anyone else that's ever been to Kirkwood on a Thursday night. I'm pretty indifferent to Hysteria/preseason events these days, but on the surface this is a very strange direction to go in like five different ways.

I got excited because my order for the Marquette game finally showed in my IU account, but no surprise I haven't been assigned seats yet. In my original email it said "lower corner" so I'm assuming they'll be decent, I'm just impatient.

That’s really strange. There were like 3000 tickets left for MSU and UCLA games last week. I’m not complaining, just wondering how they did it.

IMS pays local organizations to clean the grounds after the Indy 500 and the other event days leading up to it. I’ve heard it’s a pretty big money maker for the groups and provides an important service to the track. I like to think IU has something like this in place, but I’m not sure.

I think most rational people can see what you’re saying, but I’m not sure how rational a guy like Cig is. He went in front of 17,000 people right after taking the job and said that 3 conference members suck. And while he has since said that he wanted to get a rise out of people, I can almost guarantee he believed every word he said on his insane press tour between taking the job and last season starting. That job/jobs like it are the flame and coaching sickos are the moth.

Definitely wasn’t counting on Florida dropping one before LSU/Miami. I think this may be in play now. Illinois will be firmly top-10, we should be top-15. They were last at Utah in 2023. Both our game and Utah will be on the FOX family of networks.

Don’t worry, the money we made off our 7,000 unsold, s****y, $70 seats will cover it.
