I think what annoyed me most was your 2nd paragraph. It reads like it was written by someone in marketing that’s completely clueless. Cig can scream from the rooftops that I need to be in my seat for 4 quarters and I’ll probably even listen. He’s earned it. I don’t need some marketing nerd telling me to stick around for an entire Kennesaw State football game.

Curious how other ticket holders felt about getting this. It rubbed me the wrong way, personally. Trying to solve a problem (that just about every school in the nation faces, by the way) by shaming the people that are buying the tickets (that you just jacked up prices on for this dogs**t schedule, by the way) would not be how I conduct business. Per usual for this group, it’s lame and out of touch at best, but as I’ve said about 100 times the last few years, I don’t understand a lot of things that the IU ticket/marketing department does.

North has been pretty solid recently. I think they’ve won the last 2 against South. And I’m not sure the last time South had a losing season.

Here’s why people that hate Friday night CFB have a point. Next Friday, IU hosts Indiana State. At approximately halftime, Bloomington South vs North and Terre Haute South vs North will both kickoff. Big, local crosstown rivalries. It sucks for people with rooting interests at both levels.

Agree about Rourke, I don’t think the take is all that hot (maybe with an ARE exception, but…very different players obviously). The comparison isn’t between the players - I said yesterday that Rourke and Mendoza are very different stylistically; it’s going to take some getting used to - it’s that Rourke had a lot of work to do after week one last season too. He did it and because 1) I’ve watched a lot of Mendoza and 2) I believe in Cig, Shanahan, and Whitmer I think Mendoza will clean it up these next couple weeks too. We shall see. On the other hand, I also don’t believe that Mendoza needs to be as good as Rourke for us to be really good again. I think he has the tools to be, but don’t think he has to be. He needs to be better than yesterday, but I don’t think anyone is arguing that. The RB room is elite, better than last year imo. The WRs block their tails off. Two rock solid TEs, maybe three. The line will hold if (big if) it stays healthy. The defense is going to be a major strength again.

My educated, but non-expert guess has this at like 98% for Big Noon Kickoff after looking at the slate for Sept 20. Pretty likely to have the pregame show too. NBC and CBS games are already picked and the rest of the Big Ten and Big 12 games that weekend blow. I imagine Gameday will be at Miami vs Florida that day.

In all seriousness I found it interesting that Cig said redzone play calling was a concern all week in postgame. They had their maddening moments down there last year, but today was terrible. I’d be curious to hear specifically what ODU was doing that gave them so much trouble.
