  1. Jeff George, 2.0.
  2. Another quality get, (a three star), and another brick in the defensive foundation. Keep em' comin' coach.
  3. Nice get. Lot's of three star guys coming aboard, more so than most years, or so my memory tells me.
  4. Well, it's obnoxious if it's a maize colored "M" or a scarlet colored "O"; but the state of Indiana? Never!... lol
  5. I think the state insignia should have been about twice the size at midfield; but that's only my opinion.
  6. That field makes me dizzy looking at it. It would however, make it easy to spot the black and gold turds running by.
  7. Because I didn't know where the hell else to put it. lol. I was just commenting on an earlier post, even though it wasn't in line with the thread title.
  8. In my opinion, the day the the NCAA went to a shot clock and the three point shot, was the day overall basketball skills went to hell. Emphasis on passing, screening, ball handling, and teamwork, are not near what they once were. No doubt, the average fan enjoys the more up tempo game, and the NCAA wants to keep the fans happy, but in terms of overall skills, it has, (again, in my opinion), diminished a kid's ability to master the whole game of basketball. The four corners offense, while boring, demanded great decision making, passes, ball handling, and mental toughness. On defense, you had to know how to attack it, to beat it. It demanded a lot more effort and employed more strategy that most people think.
  9. So I hear Harrison Niego is leaving?...
  10. If the NCAA doesn't supplement those self imposed sanctions, (and sanctions in only the loosest sense of the word), they have no balls.
  11. I stand corrected. Thought it was eight. Seven is still a good number. :-)
  12. One way or the other, eventually, Wilson will sort out the QB, and by extension, the rest of the offensive side of the ball. If we can just jump start the defense, and with eight home games this year, we ought to have a bit of fun.
  13. The Tarheels lost. The Cubs beat the hell out of the Angels The Cards lost opening day. All is right in the world.
  14. He'll compete for the starting position in the fall won't he? I thought he showed real potential.
  15. They don't like our chances against North Carolina. Therefore, I dismiss them out of hand. lol
  16. Ah, said the little fish, "you'll not get me hooked today".
  17. I thought the exact same thing. I thought, "why in the hell is that kid wearing low tops, with a bum ankle"? Not in my day...
  18. Nothing sadder than an aging comedian....
  19. I would had to have been kept from the medicine cabinet, where razors and other sharp objects are stored. Couldn't stand that loud mouthed fool.
  20. I know I'm going to sound old and grouchy, (do I ever sound otherwise?), but my god what has happened to the game of college basketball?! In particular, what has happened to officiating? Isn't it their job of keeping in check, violations such as "walking", "palming", "double dribbling", "going over the back", "moving picks", etc., etc., etc? It's an embarrassment out on the court. Most of the lower seeded teams resemble little more than pick up squads from down at the "Y", with too many of the upper echelon looking nearly as bad. And yet, the officials let it go, as if they've been directed by the NCAA to do so, (actually, come to think of it, they probably have been). No doubt, this is some socially based directive to eliminate conformity to rules, which in their eyes, affects a disproportionate percentage of lower income kids. If I wanted to see this sloppy of a game, I'd watch the NBA, which is why I don't. The NCAA seriously needs to get the mop bucket out and clean up the spew. Rant over.
  21. Dear Iowa,   In case you've misplaced it, we've found it. Here is your ass.   Oceans of love, Villanova
  22. Beat Carolina, and I'll renounce every bad thing I've ever said about Crean. Having just watched the Tarheels roll Providence, it'll be a tall order though. Unlike Kentucky, NC's big men can actually ball, and are extremely active around the rim. They employed a very effective zone trap just after mid-court to force Providence in to bad passes, turnovers and ill-timed shots. Eventually, they just wore down the Friars and pulled away. I know that some would rather we'd have played Providence, but not me. In order to be great again, we have to play and beat teams like Duke, Kentucky, Kansas and yes, North Carolina. That will have a far greater impact on recruiting than saying, "Yes, we made it to the elite eight by beating Providence" at some kid's home. We'd better bring our "A" game for sure, meaning "good" Troy needs to show up and "bad" Troy needs to stay far away. Our guards should have open looks when/if NC goes in to their trap, but they'll have to launch it quickly because the NC guards and forwards get back into position awfully fast. We'll also need to avoid picking up the dribble.
  23. Would be nice if in ten years, we could say he's only been gone six....
