  1. Hasn't he had issues with injuries? Do we want a third guard that may be limited by injuries on our roster?
  2. I do like how the baseball rule works. Tying the player to the team that drafts them for a few years pretty much means that players will stick around for more than one year if they want out of that contract/could level the playing field between NBA teams.
  3. I think that they should change the one-and-done rule. If a kid thinks he's such hot... stuff... that he can make it into the NBA right out of school, then let him. But if they go choose to go to school then they need to get a degree. Let the kids who are just there for the sport get their money and the actual STUDENT-athletes can be students. It'll get some of the bad attitudes out of the college level and increase the number of 3-4 year players.
  4. Hey another Mets fan! There's at least two of us here!
  5. True, true. And I could get on board for treating it like an hourly job rather than a giant salary.
  6. But then what about the alternate academic requirements? What campus gives students a free education, tons of tutors and specified time to get that tutoring done, and the possibility of coming out of school with 2 degrees in four years?
  7. I don't know if it's been mentioned, but I really like this function of being able to highlight words and have the option of quoting just those words. It's nifty.
  8. The MH is funded by the music school. They get $110K a year for staff, licenses for music, away trip, per diems on the trip, uniform repair, instrument repair, things like that. But building (which costs 4M, quite a bit less than the AH renovations or any other project they've done in the recent past) is being done completely by donation. My point is that money made by athletics are being used by the athletics, which benefits the athletes. It's not like that money is being used to buy ice cream for the Read cafeteria.
  9. But most of that money goes directly into athletics. IU doesn't build the Marching Hundred a building because of all of the money the basketball team makes. The MH has to fund that entirely by themselves. The money goes to the coaches, staff, facilities, scholarships, travel, recruiting, etc.
  10. Completely separate from the school. Basically what I'm saying is that student athletes shouldn't be paid. If they are then they shouldn't associate with schools. Getting paid a salary to participate in school? Getting paid a salary to be taught by world class faculty, coaches, professors? They'd be like pros but with more benefits and an age limit. I don't like it.
  11. If you're going to be paying the student athletes, then don't call them student athletes, give them a free education, and they should separate the sport from the school.
  12. TB = tuberculosis TB = tender buns TB = tiny balloons Am I doing this right?
  13. I like the new layout but could there be a setting to see unread threads as threads rather than each individual post (like the old version or on the app)? Right now it's coming up like a facebook news feed so the page could be filled with new posts from a single thread, rather than seeing the thread title that's been updated.
  14. Cool cool, thanks!
  15. I'm still getting the "deceptive site" warning... Also, is there any way to access the old site format? The "unread content" page shows me each individual post rather than the threads that have updates making it more difficult to navigate.
  16.   Gotcha. Glad he didn't pull them out or something. Thanks.
  17. Does anyone know what's up with Providence's coach's hair?
  18. Providence/UNC is proving to be a fun game!
  19.   Interesting article. I could see that friendship.
  20. SFA is doing a decent job breaking the press.
  21.   Shoving players into refs, no less! That's something special
  22. I love it when announcers say, "Ya know, they really need to hit shots. They aren't and that's why they're losing." Like, really? That's how the game of basketball is played? I didn't know that!
  23. Wisky with a slow start, 12-3 PITT
  24. SDS gets trapped and doesn't call their last time out, loses them that game.
  25.   It doesn't matter what school you go to, but if you're a basketball player then you know who Bob Knight is. That'd be like a guitarist not know who Hendrix was.
