  9. WIBC Article INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana basketball legend and hall-of-famer Bobby "Slick" Leonard is in the hospital after slipping on some ice over the weekend. Boyle says he visited Leonard in the hospital on Sunday and the 85-year-old former coach was in good spirits. "Although it's a serious injury, the good news is no surgery is required," says Boyle. "He'll be getting out of the hospital, he hopes, in the next day or two." Boyle credits Slick and his wife Nancy for being two of the toughest people he knows. "It takes more than [a leg injury] to put him down. If there's anyone tougher than Slick it's Nancy. I'm sure she's upset, who wouldn't be? But, she never shows it. She's very resilient, very tough. She'll help him get through. She's a great teammate and a great partner," says Boyle. Leonard was on the Indiana University men’s basketball team that won a national championship in 1954. He went on to a playing and coaching career in the NBA before becoming head coach of the Indiana Pacers in 1968. Leonard led the Pacers to three ABA championships and won 529 games as head coach. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014.
