I'd add scheme, your perimeter defenders consistently getting beat while your bigs rotate to block the shot giving up offensive rebounds. Effort has a lot to do with it too. Blocking out vs. just going for the ball

IU playing 5D chess while others are playing checkers. If we drop below 30 that changes a home win against us to Q2 while they move below 30 which results in a Q1 win for us. This is genius!

I don't understand how we can get outrebounded like we do often. I believe it's more than just unlucky bounces at this point no? We have good to great size at every position. It has to be something else.........

I don't recall where Perkins was ranked but good on him for developing and contributing to a solid Iowa team. Hope Gallo and his hair continue to develop to impact our team. It would be nice if quantity allowed those percentages to really make an impact and get the consistency figured out from some players too.

You really had me questioning things. I haven't paid that close attention but that would be one heck of a jump. I could see a move into the mid 30s depending on what others in front of them did today.

Damn, not only did we let them rain threes on us the entire game but they outrebounded and shot more FTs than us. I didn't think this team had the effort required to completely tank like that. That's impressive.

There is plenty of blame to go around for performances like this. It was definitely there before Woody arrived and you could attribute it to different things/people. There is always a balance between being too strict and too lenient. It's much easier to start stricter and loosen the reins than to tighten the screws later. I've been vocal about the [lack of] leadership for this team and program for a hot minute. I don't think Woody is ignorant to this but you're limited in what you can say publicly. It's nice of him to call out the leadership when he's shown it a few times throughout the season or what they're calling leadership. Would it be different if JHS was the leader? Possibly, young men in that 17-24ish range are a bit erratic in how they handle those issues. I thought XJ had the most leadership potential in this group.

@Rutger, @Kansas, @PSU, and Iowa we flat out didn't compete. That includes a game early, middle, and late in the schedule. Roughly 17% @Iowa, Northwestern, @Minny, @Maryland, @Northwestern, and @Michigan St. we had halves we forgot to compete. That's roughly another 11% of games. We're one game shy of completing the regular season and in ~28% of the time on the floor we looked like we're cool with just taking the beating. That's concerning and not the baseline I was hoping would be set with a veteran team in Woodson's second season. The wins have been absolutely fantastic. The laying of turds not so much.

Tough to win on the road unless the home team rolls over and takes it like champs.

He's had the opportunity to learn from his leader this season.

Maybe a players only meeting will help us remember that we have to play with effort and focus every game. Maybe when we get an experienced veteran led team we'll not have as many of these games/halves that we drop turds all over the court.

St. Mary's in the tourney is def up there along with Penn St. this season

Culture, leadership and such. Never set a baseline or addressed it. We can say it's just a one off but it's happened more than it should.
